Queens students!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got my acceptance letter for the Queens associates program starting in Jan 2010:yeah:! I just wanted to see if anyone has any advice, tips? How are the classes setup? etc, any info will help me feel more at ease because I am sooooo nervoous! I am ready to start, just worried what my schedule will be like! I have all my gen ed classes done except Sociology, so I will be just taking the Nursing courses.

---new to allnurses, am I posting this in the correct place??

Thanks!!

I graduated from Queens BSN program in May 2009. I loved it!! The schedule is not too crazy until senior year in that program. There are 2-3 class days and 1-2 clinical days per week. One clinical day is 12 hours, or 2 of the 6 hour days. Instructors are very supportive, especially clinical instructors. With that in mind, this will be the first year of a new curriculum that has been in the making for a couple of years now, so the set up may be significantly different now. Overall though, super supportive environment, beautiful neighborhood, and lots of opportunities to get involved in the community.

Congrats. I started the ASN program this semester and it is lecture on Tuesdays and Clinical either Wednesday or Thursday. If you would like I can locate the paper we were given during Orientation that tells you exactly the days and requirements for the entire program to your e-mail.

Oh and we are required to do community service every semester though it is only 60 hours for the program and 4-8 hours per class being taken.

Hi PSON,

I will be attending the ASN program in spring 2010 at Queens also. Would you mind forwarding me that info sheet that tells you what to expect?

Thanks so much:)

I have e-mailed the paper to you both. Let me know if this helps.
