Quality Control nursing

Hi I'm a new graduate and I was offered a job to be a quality control RN at a blood bank. I've been trying to get into a hospital or an acute facility, but no luck. So I'm overjoyed to be offered this position. My only problem is how do I keep up with my skills.

And when I want to look into an acute care facility later on, will this be a disadvantage or will I be able to use this experience (on resume & at the workplace) to increase my chances of getting hired?

This is usually a position held by Laboratory technology professionals - it's their area of expertise. I would wonder why it would be offered to an RN with no clinical experience. Sounds very strange.
