Q about birth control

Hi there:

Quick Q...and no, this will not take the place of any med. advice, just curious :) If I started BC (Yasmin) took it for 2 weeks, and then stopped, ( I felt like death the whole time) would that alter my cycle enough to make me a week or so late? It seems like I ovulated very late(which makes sense as bc stops ovulation) But I did not have a period after stopping, Actually it seemed like I had one for 16 days while on the darn stuff! I don't feel pg ( i have 2 already) AND I have an IUD( which I am hoping to get rid of, the reason for trying the pill...) I know its silly, but I know if I buy a pg test, I'll start my pd ;) anyway, thanks for listening, just wondered if my assumptions were at all correct!

Hello, Jen,

As always, you should contact your healtcare provider for medical advice. That being said, it is not abnormal to not have menses when abruptly ceasing the oc as you did.

Again, please call your PCP for any further information.
