Psych Tech

Is anyone in SoCal a psych tech and if so what is the starting pay and how long did it take you to find a job? I was thinking about going for one but afraid I'm not going to get a decent paying job after:( I just want to go in that job field til I get done with nursing school.

    If you're already in nursing school, that doesn't seem like a logical plan. I'm under the impression that psychiatric techs function in a similar way to LVNs. Going to school for nursing and psychiatric tech seems a little redundant.
