  1. Thanks for all the feedback, my work and school is very close to each other probably a 15 minute drive .. I would be getting tuition reimbursement that would cover most of what I have to pay so I would be coming out of school without a loan. I have a very supportive boyfriend who cooks for me and packs my lunch as I am already a busy student as it is with finishing my prereqs. so I would basically be packing three meals a day. There will be one day during the week where I would get out around 6:30 .. My work is very laidback so I am able to flip through flashcards and finish homework here and there while im at work. I kno it will be hard and will be a lot on my plate but I am determined to keep my benefits including my tuition reimbursement. Also, I have no other courses to take besides nursing courses.
  2. Hey everyone ! In January I plan to start the evening nursing program at my local community college. I will be working 6:30-3pm M-F and going to class from 4 to around 10pm. I am not sure of my exact schedule yet as I have not gone to orientation.. I am looking for some advice on how to handle working full time and going to school full time in the evening.. what are some things that worked for you? How were you able to handle it ? I will be off on weekends as I do not work the weekend and do not believe that my program will run on the weekend unless it is clinical. I do not have any children which makes this whole process easier. And my family is very supportive of me but I plan to pay for this out of pocket as I get reimbursed from the hospital I work at. I kno it will be hard but hopefully I am able to get it done. Let me know what you think and please leave any tips and tricks on how to survive. THANK YOU
  3. hii! My name is Chanel .. I currently work at Dana Farber in boston. Plan on working while going to school. going to be hard but so worth it.
  4. hiii!!! I also got accepted ! I will be staring in January .. what is ur name ? would love to meet you since we will be class mates very soon.. where are u doing ur CPR certification ? do you already work in a hospital?
  5. hey guys! hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their first semester. Just thought I would update you guys and let you know that I was accepted and starting this spring. So excited! let me know how its going!! are u enjoying it ??
  6. hii! are u applying to Roxbury community college in MA ? or a different "RCC" ?
  7. I applied for spring 2018 but they must have gotten confused and thought I applied for this coming fall? that's what admissions said.
  8. so guys apparently letters went out and I did not receive one.. so I am waiting on either a phone call from admissions or a letter from admissions and I am unsure of what to think! very nervous.
  9. Hey everyone, I haven't seen any posts about Roxbury community colleges spring 2018 cycle. So im wondering if anyone has applied? the deadline was June 16th and I am just waiting to hear back !!
  10. do you mind me asking what you got on your science section? that was my lowest section so im worried that it might hurt my chances.
  11. I got a 72 on my teas this past Saturday. Still considered proficient but not exactly what I wanted. How about you ?
  12. yes my pre req gpa is a 3.6 and I took stats ended up with a B+ so I should be all set with math .. all I need is micro and nursing courses.
  13. It said you had to be at least proficient to have a competitive application. Im currently a student at Bunker hill which is where I took all of my classes. I only have micro left to take which I plan on taking in the fall. If you have more classes done do they take that into consideration? Also do you know how many points you got for your essay? When I started to take classes I started in developmental math class which is still on my transcript, since it is not a college level class are they going to consider that? I got a C so it is dragging my GPA down to a 3.3..if they did not consider it it would go up seeing as all my other classes are As and Bs. Sorry about all the questions!
  14. congrats to you guys! I applied for the evening program starting in January, Could you guys tell me your GPAs and TEAS scores also how were your essays? I am pretty nervous because I didn't do as well as I wanted to on the TEAS, only got a 72. thanks !
  15. so this semester I will be taking chem, a&p II and human growth and development .. I want to brush up on some chem material prior because I know its going to be a rough semester while working full time. any certain websites or things to pay closer attention to as I review ? thanks !! :)
