Hi guys! I know this is an old post but I wanted to let everyone know that I finally got into the dental hygiene program :) I don't think I've ever been so happy! Now I can throw that TEAS book right away! I hope everyone does great in nursing school! Best of luck to all of us:)

Well just got an email saying I don't qualify for the program. I only have Anatomy 109 (took it for dental hygiene) but apparently Anatomy 230 is required. I didn't know there were two "beginner" anatomy classes. Really a huge bummer but I should have paid close attention. Guess I'll just try dental again lol don't even have the ability to take the anatomy 230 even in time to apply in the fall unless it's offered this summer. I swear it's always something. Then my teas will almost be expired. I don't think I'll ever get a degree! Good luck everyone!

Hey everyone! Today is the application deadline for Fall 2017! Now the count down begins to see if we are accepted! Fingers crossed!

Yesterday I received a call from Valerie from admissions- my Teas score was sent directly to CCBC when I took it last year. She called to tell me she could only view my overall teas score... she couldn't see the individual scores for each section... I called ATI to see what the deal was and they told me the breakdown was sent. I called admissions back and told her she should be able to see everything & if she is having trouble she needs to contact ATI to walk her through it... Hoping she will figure out how to see my reading score by the 31st! I feel like I am the middle man right now! She also confirmed that CCB will calculate your GPA and to NOT listen to the CAS application (just like you guys said) :)

Thank you for the response :) That is really good news. Last night I was freaking out and doing more calculations. I saw that on the application they included my repeated classes also in the GPA calculation. I took Sociology, English, Psychology and Chem and received C's. I retook all 4 courses and improved my grades. So with the CAS calculation they put me at 3.11 and if you don't include those original 4 classes then it would be 3.43 which is a huge jump (this is using all classes other than my repeated). Thanks again!

I have an overall GPA of 3.11 and science of 2.81 and I am nervous. But it seems that my college calculates the GPA using ALL courses even if they aren't required for the program... frustrating because doing this brings my science GPA from a 3.00 to a 2.81... (I have a C in a BIO course that was required for another program I was going to do before nursing). Anyone else have a similar problem?

I just received an update on my CAS application! It is now verified and complete. My overall GPA was calculated as 3.11 and my science GPA was calculated as 2.81. Does anyone know if CCBC will use this calculation? Because this calculation is ALL the classes I have ever taken in college. I am wondering if CCBC will possibly recalculate the GPA for only required courses for the nursing program? For my science I have A&P= B Micro=B which should be a 3.0. But they are using my Bio 110 C which is bringing my science GPA down (this course was required for when I applied to dental hygiene). I'm sure they will end up using this calculation because that is my luck lol but this is frustrating they would use all courses! Anyone else in this same boat?!

Hi everyone! On Jan 8th I submitted my application for CCBC Essex Fall 2017 day program (not ATB program). I scored a 73% on my Teas with a 85% in the reading section. As far as my grades go I have all A's and B's. I have taken Chemistry already because I am in a toss up between the dental hygiene program (chem is required) and nursing! I applied to the DH program last year and was not accepted (I believe it was because I had a C in chem but now I have a B). Hoping to get into both programs this year and be able to take my pick :)

Allison007 thank you for the response! I am sending one transcript from HCC and then another from CCBC. If I go to CCBC and bring both transcripts w/ the form they need you to attach, do you think they would send both for me? Or do you think I need to go to HCC and have them send theirs and then to CCBC? Not sure if one school would send both if I bring them to save another trip? Thank you for the help! :)

Allison007 Thank you for your response! I am sending transcripts in from HCC and CCBC. Do you think I need to go to each school and send each one separate? Or do you think if I go to CCBC they could send them both in for me (I have a copy of each one that I would bring with me already printed in an envelope along with the sheet you have to send with it). Thank you!

Hi! Anyone else applying for the CCBC RN day program @ Essex for Fall 2017?! I am in the process of completing the application on CAS & having a difficult time! I am not 100% sure how they want us to submit our transcripts! Online it says Have your college send the official transcripts (this includes any CCBC transcripts) and the form to CCBC CAS". I see the form that is supposed to be attached to the transcripts but after that I am lost. Do I request the transcripts and then mail it in my self with this form? Or do I just give it to the college? Would they even do this? Thanks! Samantha
