dosage calculation
I am doing a dosage calculation problem and my instructor have not given me the answer sheet and I feel like I am not getting the right answer. I was someone can help correct my answer. Question: The school nurse needs to administer ibuprofen 10mg/kg PO Q 4H. The client weighs 17lb. How many mg will the nurse administer per day. How I set up my problem 10mg/kg x 17lb X 4hrs x 24hr/1 day x 1 kg/ 2.2lb I got 4080/8.8 =463.6 mg/day * I put 4hrs on the bottom

Clincal reasoning vs critical thinking
0Hi, I just started my nursing program a few weeks ago. During class, we had a discussion about clinical reasoning and critical thinking. I really thought they were the same. I have a hard time thinking of a scenario to pick out the two. My example scenario: Your patient has a history of asthma. As you walk into the patient's room, you noticed her lips looked a bit blue. You administer oxygen and check her oxygen saturation. So would my clinical reasoning be knowing patient's health history and critical thinking is administering oxygen? If I am wrong, would anyone like to give me a few scenario to help explain it to me? Thank you Reply

Ivpb dosage calculation help
I need help. I don't know if it's the way I'm processing this information, but I just can't seem to setup up my dimension analysis. Order: Daptomycin 4mg/kg IVPB over 30 minutes once daily for bacterial infection. Supply: 500 mg vial client's weight: 185 lb Nursing drug reference: reconstitute with 10 mL of 0.9% sodium chloride and further dilute in 50 mL of 0.9% sodium chloride to yield 50 mg/mL. Calculate the milliliters per hour to set the IV pump.

Dosage Calculation help
I've been doing very well in my dosage calculations class, but lately I've been having problems when it comes to drop factors, flow rates. How would I solve this problem? I am having a hard time setting up my dimension analysis. Order: 2mg of medication in 1000 mL D5W at 5mcg/minute drop factor: 10gtts/mL calculate the flow rate in drops per minute. round to nearest tenth
