  1. Hello fellow nurses! I am a new grad RN who has been super fortunate to have been offered two positions: 1.) Med/Surg - big hospital group, decent pay 2.) Emergency Department - dream job! Level 3 trauma center, but the pay is not very good. I'm conflicted because I know I'm super lucky to bag an ED offer, and it would be killer experience that would allow me to transfer anywhere. It's just the that other offer in medsurg pays a whole $20/hr more. That's a significant difference. My heart says ED but my wallet says M/S. Help, please!
  2. Hey all! I'm currently a 2nd semester nursing student at EVC and I just want to say that it is a HUGE waiting game before 1st semester. Everything is very last minute, people literally get accepted the week of class starting. It's crazy. Adrienne does an amazing job at organizing everything, just trust the process. If you email her, she might not respond right away, but she will get to you eventually. Good luck to everyone, work hard and keep up with the reading!
  3. Just FYI I've started a facebook page for all of us to stay up to date on lectures, assignments, and support! You can find it under "EVC Fall 2017 Nursing Students"! Looking forward to meeting all of you soon :)

  7. EVC's minimum pass percentage requirement is 75%, I wonder why someone would tell you 68%??? I've been accepted into their program for the Fall 17 semester. Just barely made it over that 75% because of a withdraw I had for a previous science course (I was a dip and tried to take physiology and microbiology at the same time!)
  8. Awesome! Congrats! Did you only apply to EVC or other colleges as well?
  9. @DennisLaw Thank you so much. Do you recall what exact immunizations were required for the program as well? If you have a specific list it would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

  11. Hello one, hello all! This post is in regards to the Evergreen Valley College - Nursing Program for the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 placement. So, as we all know, we have finally received our placement emails! I am so excited! I personally have been assigned to the Fall semester. Ahh, so much to do! Eager to hear what semesters you all were placed in. Can't wait to meet you all in person :)
  12. Same here. Called the department to see what immunizations were needed for the program so I could get a head start on it all, and Mrs. Burns answering machine said she was on vacation. So I assume we should be getting an email afterwards (sooner than later hopefully). Although, from what I gather from other threads on here, they tend to leave people in the dark for a bit about a lot of things, when they start, nursing boot camp, ect. I have even heard they will call some people on the alternate list a WEEK before the program starts and put them in the program! Hope we get placed soon though!
  13. Bummer! So sorry to hear, I'm sure it is a difficult time for you right now, but if I can say anything, just try to believe that maybe there is a reason you should start next year instead of this year
  14. Super stoked! Scored an 83% on the TEAS VI this past Thursday. So as a generic I am officially in the program (no more provisional status)! Just waiting on my e-mail to let me know which semester I'll be starting in. Anyone else get in?! Can't wait to meet you all :) Till then!
  15. Oh wow! That's great! See learn something new everyday, haha. Congrats then!!! Either way, hope you get moved up ♡
