Just got my official rejection email. I hope something good comes out of this.... I have been wanting and working toward this position for 4 years now I'm so upset that I'm not even an alternate..... Congrats to all who were selected, I hope that you have an amazing summer! Learn lots, improve your skills, and enjoy the social atmosphere that the Summer III program provides!

Mine is not This seems like a bad sign for me.... But a good sign for you! That might mean that you're moving on to the next step, so you can't withdrawl!

Hopefully tomorrow is the day when we find out if we move to the next level!

Some years they have notified on weekends too. However, a business day would definitely be more likely I would think!

Exactly. I think it's important to keep in mind too that Mayo may not use the same exact timeline as they have in previous years. We may even have to wait another week or two! I've read threads that are from 3-4 years ago, and their timelines are slightly different. There's still hope for us! :)

Mine still says application in review as of today. LPNJamie7, I believe you're right! Past applicants have said their status changed to "interview" if they made it to the second round of consideration. Fingers crossed for a change soon! :)

With the cohorts before us, 40-50% of the students typically get cut for not getting a high enough HESI score or not getting a 77% test average- So our professors just kind of expect to cut half now.

It's just that every class before us has lost 40-50% of their cohort, so that's what our professors expect. 40-50% of people don't make the 77% test average or don't get a 800 on their HESI, so they fail pharmacology. The theory is that it increases our NC

I completed a year and a half of prerequisites with straight A's.... I completed two semesters of nursing school with all A's and one B. And here I am, in my most difficult semester of our nursing program, feeling like I'm going to sink. My study habits and previous grades say otherwise, but I have a bad feeling. I guess I'm not looking for advice.... I know I need to continue to study hard, seek help if I need it, and stay positive. But has anyone else felt this way? If I can pass this semester, I'll move onto senior year. However, they plan to cut 50% of my cohort this semester. I'm terrified of being in the bottom 50%.... Has anyone overcome this mental block before?

Mine has says the same thing. It has said that since I submitted my application!

Normally they have around 900 people apply I believe!

Great idea Allison! I'm a junior in a nursing program in Illinois. I enjoy being involved with a ton of organizations on campus. I'm really interested in the NICU/pediatric critical care, but that could always change :) My new hobby is checking my email constantly to see if Mayo has emailed us I'm not sure I'm a very competitive candidate for this externship- But I am applying to a couple back-up externships that are probably more realistic for me.

That's too bad Sailor Mars Maybe some of the people on this thread will be accepted and can give you advice when you apply next year!!

If anyone receives any emails from Mayo, comment them on this post! Maybe we can ease eachothers nerves by waiting together :) What state is everyone from? I'm from IL!

Let the wait begin! From reading previous Summer III threads, it seems as though they may ask for transcripts and preferences within the next few weeks. Usually everyone gets a decision via email by mid February! :) I'm so so nervous! At least we know there's nothing we can do now (Except for read the old Summer III threads over and over again....lol)
