  1. Hello to all my UK nurses out there! I have a question for you all. Does UK/Chandler consider GPA as a hiring factor for their potential employees(more specifically nurses)? Thank you so much in advance! Hope to hear from y'all.
  2. It depends on how competitive the school you're applying to is. There are some schools that are mildly competitive, and they will accept you as long as you have completed their prereqs, you have a C average on them , and you have a passing score on your admission exam. Does your school have any admission exams like the hesi, ATI, etc.? On another note, the highly-competitive schools, although not in all cases, gravitate towards accepting students who have very high GPAs and above average admission exam scores. Some even require personal statements and experiences (related to volunteer activities) as deciding factors to the student's acceptance. It just all depends. With your grades, you should be fine. But to be sure, you should also pay attention to the other requirements. I know most nursing schools look at the admission test scores. If that is the case, practice practice practice! Do some practice questions. This way, you can increase your chances of getting a great score, and it can help you to get into the "competitive" pool of applicants. Goodluck, and YOU GOT THIS!
  3. Hello! To all my Californian RNs out there, I was wondering if you could give me some honest answers to my query. I am planning on moving to California due to familial reasons. How is the housing market in the state? Are you able to afford to buy a house in California with your income as a nurse? Would it be difficult for a single nurse to afford a house? Thank you all very much!
  4. Hi everyone! I'm currently on the second semester of our nursing program. For our finals, we have to take the HESI Med-Surg exam. I really want to get at least a 960 on it, because I didn't do so well on our last test, which terribly dragged my grades down. In addition, Med-Surg has not really been my strongest subject this semester, so that makes me even more nervous and stressed out. Do you have any tips on how to ace it? What material (besides the lecture notes) or review book would you recommend to study for the exam? I've heard a lot of people swear by the HESI Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination review book in terms of HESI specialty exams, but a lot of people also recommend the Saunders book. For this particular HESI exam, which of these two review books would you say is the best and would offer the most help? (Also, what is the Med-Surg Hesi out of? I've read somewhere that it's out of 1130 and each question is graded based on its difficulty. Is that right?) Thank you so much!:)
