  1. Hi, I've been away from home care nursing for about 10 years. I am hoping to be able to reduce my hours of work from 40-60 hours per week to part time work and am considering returning to home care/hospice on a part time basis. I am not primarily motivated by finances, but after working in nursing for >25 years, I'm ready to slow down a bit. I just don't know if I can afford to do this. I live in California but may have to consider a move if I can't afford to stay here. Could some of you please let me know what I might expect from a per visit rate of pay for home care? My specialties have been oncology, HIV, ICU and CCU. Is it realistic to hope to work 20 hours per week in a home care position? Thanks so much for your feedback!
