Why are accelerated BSN programs closing?
I'm in an accelerated nursing program and this will be the last year as a BSN. They told us it's due to the financial burden for students, since it's hard to get federal financial aid for a second bsn so students must apply for private loans. They will be converting to an MSN to help with this

George Washington University ABSN Spring 2018
I don't qualify for the yellow ribbon program so I'm looking at around 40k not being covered by GI bill

George Washington University ABSN Spring 2018
Hey I was accepted to the spring 18 VBSN program. Have you guys heard anything about cost and aid? Or any communication at all other than the initial acceptance packet?

Have you heard anything back yet?

George Washington University VBSN Fall 17
I was put on the waitlist because they are waiting on my anatomy grade that I'm currently enrolled in. I got that on Feb 28 and I got sent to final review in January (I forgot exactly what day but you can look in an earlier post). The veterans advisor is new and doesn't know when waitlisted applicants will be reviewed so I'm stuck here in limbo. But you can expect your answer 4-6 weeks after it goes into final review. Sometimes longer if there's midterms or spring break or anything that takes time away from decision making. Good luck though. If you call the nursing admissions office they can let you know if your application has been reviewed yet by the committee and if they've made a decision.

Congrats! I just spoke to the admissions office and mine still in review. They don't do all the veterans at once and it's been a busy week for them, so now they are saying the decision could even be pushed back into early March. I'll just keep stressing out until then. If you want I can still let you know if I get in. Otherwise, I hope to see you at orientation!

No, you? When did your application get sent for final review?

George Washington University VBSN Fall 17
Not yet. Mine got submitted for final review 24 Jan. I'm expecting a response by the end of February but who knows. Keep me updated if you hear back!

I did end up applying, I'm waiting for nursingCAS to verify my transcripts now. How long after the verification did your application go up for review? How long did it take to receive a decision? Did you apply for the VBSN program? I got a recommendation from my former XO and my former Chief so I think I've got those down okay. And pre-req gpa is decent, not fantastic though. I'm just crossing my fingers now but I gotta say the wait is killing me!

Is anyone applying/been accepted to this program? If you've been accepted, what were your stats? What has been your experience so far? If you're applying, how was your experience?

Roseman University good or bad?
I'm looking into the Roseman University in Nevada or Utah. I am just wondering if anyone has any information on the legitimacy of their program. It has a fairly high price tag of about $50k, so I don't want to waste my time if I won't be receiving an on par education. How would you rank this program against similar programs ie Chamberlain, Denver School of Nursing, Western Governors, etc? I would like to receive further education, so how would a degree from Roseman affect my applications at other schools? Thank you.

Low GPA undergrad programs
Long story short I was a turd my first few years of college and joined the military, got straightened out and now I am trying to overcome my GPA to get into nursing school as an undergrad. Current GPA is 2.65 with 6 more prereqs that will be completed by May 2017. With the grades I have for what I'm currently enrolled in and the grades intend to have from my final prereqs, I should have a 2.7-2.8 GPA (I have 120 credits so raising GPA is difficult for me). I am trying to find a nursing program that will still accept me with a GPA that low. I don't know my prereq GPA but it is significantly higher, at least a 3.0. Which schools overlook cumulative GPA or only look at prereq GPA for undergrads? With my amount of credit hours the advice of "take more fluff to raise your GPA" is not an option. I also have my GI bill so I can't spend a year taking fluff classes or retaking classes because I need that funding to go towards a degree program. Even if I finish my degree in another subject (Russian), I only have 13 classes remaining so my GPA would still not break 3.0 with all As. I would prefer to just complete my undergrad as a nursing student instead of doing ABSN, but if that's the only way to recovery from my bad decisions as a teenager, then so be it. Thanks for all the help.
