I need some advice about working on a pediatric unit, how to gain trust, provide comfort and reduce fears, reduce pain in painful procedures (IV starts, catheter insertion etc) im nursing student whom is precepting on a pediatric floor. Thank you in advance!
I am going to be precepting a few night shifts as I finish up my last semester in my RN program, I have experienced a couple night shifts during my previous clinicals and I always got pretty tired and mentally foggy around 3am, does anyone have any tips on staying awake and alert, besides coffee?
I am finishing my last semester in my RN program, and am going to start precepting in the Womens and Childrens unit at my local hospital, I am just wondering if any of you have experience in gaining trust and reducing anxiety/pain in children and have any tips for me before I start?
