CSUSM ABSN FALL 2020
Hey, overall I really like the program! I'm getting through it and enjoying (most of) it. It does have its pros and cons, ups and downs, but I think every program probably does. Many of people work part time. I do not. It really all depends on the person. Some people are OK with little sleep, or don't need to study as much. The 2nd-3rd semesters (when you have clinical) were very busy to where I didn't want anything to interfere with doing well. 2nd semester was HARD, stressful, and I didn't work and felt like I had no time for anything else but school. Summer semesters are tough because it's only 10 weeks. For example, one Summer semester I had clinical 3x/week for 9 hours + an 11 hour lecture day+ studying/homework 25+ hours/week. To me it was impossible to work during that, but some students did. I might get a job towards the last couple semesters as there is more free time and less clinical hours.

The classes are all online for Fall (cohort 37). There are 2-3 classes depending on if you have credit for Nutrition already. I think Nutrition is at a real time each week. The two others are asynchronous. I’m not sure at all what Spring will be like, but I’m guessing a hybrid of online and in person.- CSUSM ABSN Summer 2020

I recently was given a spot in the Fall 2020 Cohort! So excited to start sooner. (I applied for Fall, was originally admitted for Spring 2021 since they pushed it back because of Covid). It's great that the first semester is just 2 classes and all virtual. Did you guys already have orientation or when is that scheduled? Do you know what time the online classes are? I don't have much info yet as they just told me yesterday.- CSUSM ABSN FALL 2020
Hey! I believe they already sent acceptances to those who applied originally for Fall ( but now it’s Spring). I applied for Fall In March with 39 points. Was accepted in June. But I saw in this thread they are still adding to the cohort. So since you applied for Spring that’s probably why they said you’d hear in August.- CSUSM ABSN Summer 2020
Do you know which schools have stopped indefinitely? My prediction is classes will be a combination of online and In person while social distancing and wearing masks. I have seen a couple nursing students on Youtube , who are already back in nursing school doing this. But they are not in California. Just wishful thinking.- CSUSM ABSN FALL 2020
Curious if most of you already live near SD or if any are planning on moving closer to school? I live in NorCal, and I’m thinking about moving sooner than January, just because my lease is up and I’d like to just already be there (and had planned on that when I applied for August/Fall). Any recommendations on areas to live? I know classes may not be all in person and clinical are all over SD etc. I really like Encinitas/Carlsbad , but it’s a bit pricey there. Any info is appreciated! ?- CSUSM ABSN FALL 2020

I'm curious whether anyone recently got in to start in FALL? I got in for Spring 2021 (applied originally for Fall though). Still hoping for a tiny chance someone will drop out to start in fall , LOL. Also , what areas of San Diego are you guys living in? Are you waiting to move until you start on campus classes and clinicals (since fall is online)? My lease is up in August, so I'm kind of in limbo with the pandemic messing everything up...- CSUSM ABSN FALL 2020
