Hello everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster... I'm a 2 yr ICU RN delving into the fabled world of travel nursing! I've been reviewing an offer of $1325/wk (half hourly half stipend) for a 13wk contract in FL with a catch: It is an "ICU Float" position which would require me to divide my time between THREE facilities in the area, each about 45mins away from each other. Also, I would be floating to PCU on occasion. Anyone ever head of/worked this type of assignment?? I really don't mind the frequent change of scenery and I consider myself pretty adaptable, however, I am left with some questions… Are these hospitals trying to pool resources and pull a fast one by using one traveler to fill the needs of three facilities, maybe even six different units (assuming each has a PCU and ICU)!? Does the compensation offer (which is the same as single facility assignments in the area) match the commitments of this assignment? What's more, Do I have any leverage at all to negotiate more moo-lah for the inconvenience of dividing my time between three facilities, me being a first-timer?? I would love to hear some input from all of you travel pros (or pros in the making) out there!
