Hello NAs! I work on the ortho unit in a big hospital. I been working there for 1 month. I had a preceptor for a week, after that week Ive been on my own. I don't think I'm doing great. I'm worried after the 90 day evaluation, I'll get fired for poor performance. It's usually 1 cna to 12 patients. I think I do wonderful with interacting with the patients but I'm usually behind in charting, especially at the end of the shift when I have to give report to the coming CNA. The list goes on with mistakes I make, and on top of that the unit clerk watches everything I do to call me out and talks bad about me to the nurses. I'm new and having a bully already also effects my performance. Sorry for the rant. Can any of you NAs give me tips and a timeline on what you do to make the job a bit easier?
  2. Yes, he has his RN license in New York
  3. hey rabraham, is your job offer as a hospital nurse or working in home health? That's impressive your first interview and fresh immigrant you already got a job. CONGRATS!
  4. Thanks for your suggestions! I have already looked up Philippines Nurse groups in NY! Thank you for being so helpful!
  5. Hello fellow nurses! I am married to a nurse who just immigrated from the Philippines. Before my husband immigrated to the US, he has worked in hospital setting for 2 years also earned many certificates and passed the NCLEX-NY. Now that he's here, he's been applying for work. His resume looks pretty impressive but his experience is limited to only in the Philippines. Can anyone give us some advice on what my husband can do to build his resume here in the States, and maybe any programs he can join to get familiar with hospitals in New York? Thanks!
