  1. Do you know where I can find literature to support that? Or any information as to why not? Thanks.
  2. Hello, Wanted to get some feedback about what other organizations are doing with regards to medical assistants and insulin/pen education. Our physicians feel that MAs are qualified to do this if they have a "written, pre-approved" document that the MA can use. I, on the other hand, think this is way outside of their scope of practice and that an unlicensed person isn't qualified to do education or teaching, let alone teaching that requires teach back and assessment of learning of a high risk medication. Wanted to see if anyone had any literature to support this as an RN only function. I am in Florida. Thanks.
  3. Does anyone know if medical assistants can operate using standing orders, particularly immunizations? This is for FL.
  4. Do you have any of these protocols you could share? I am trying to get several in place for my organization. Thank you.
  5. Has anyone developed a medical assistant scope of practice in their state or for their facility?
  6. I contacted both boards about MA scope of practice for FL and they said there really aren't any specific regulations BC MAs practice under the physician. Im a surgical RN and that is always done by the physician, so I just wanted to try and find some info about MAs in general. Thanks.
  7. Just wondering if a medical assistant can inject local anesthetic? What about an RN?
