Greetings everyone, I have a problem and I'm not sure what to do. I'm an RN for over a year now and I went though a few jobs and finally landed a hospital position In my local area. I was very happy when I first started. As the days went on I started to get bad anxiety and lacking major confidence to the point I didn't want to be there at all. I don't know if it was the long hours, no breaks, and being pulled in a million different directions, or it was the fact I'm in my last class for my BSN and have a huge project looming over my head or a combination of both. The staff was great, doctors not so great. Nurse manager awesome! (She just resigned and leaving in a month). My last week of precepting was last week and I guess I had a nervous brakedown, and in a panic, I texted my Nurse Manager and told her I wasn't coming in and thanked her for everything. Now a few days have gone by and I'm regretting it deeply. Like it's haunting me. I'm asking myself why did I do that? Why didn't I just go in and finish up my last week with my preceptor and just suck it up and see how it goes?I'm so stupid for this. Now, I don't have a job, and of course I can't put this down on my resume because I basically "burned a bridge". I'm mad at myself. I have been thinking a lot about this for the last few days and want to call my nurse manager and tell her I panicked. Do you think she will let me have the position back? Or did I screw this up big time and don't bother at all. Please anyfeed back would help. I'm so upset with myself. Thank you all for listening.
