  1. I want to make sure I've done my due diligence and then some. I'd love some advice... What are Press Gainey scores?? I kind of know, but how do I get that info about a hospital? I've looked at the facility on Medicare.gov, and have combed through most of their own website. What are some questions you could see being asked? My experience is going to be an issue, this is a second career. But I do have three years ICU experience (2 adult, 1 pediatric) and have served as a resource nurse for about another year. Yeah...anything. I REALLY want this job. It sounds like a great opportunity to help from a wider systematic perspective. Thanks!
  2. I spend too much time thinking about this. PETS: Within 5-10 years I fully expect to see patients being able to bring their pets in. There will be limitations, of course, but dogs, cats even, yeah...I can totally see that happening. VIDEO SURVEILLANCE: 24 hour video surveillance in the PATIENT'S room. Maybe not everywhere but video has become so cheap especially relative to other things. I think... I think it's a horrible idea...but I'm honestly not sure. what do yall think? What are some things you could imagine happening?
  3. I'm trying to figure out how the MAP on my monitors are calculated, it's not the shorthand, weighted average approach: (SYS + 2 DIA)/3 I'm guessing it involves HR...maybe pulse pressure. I really can't figure out otherwise. Thanks!
  4. History of lyme disease, malaria, and God knows what else I've picked up in my travels. I feel I've taken this as far as my body will let me. I work at a very large hospital, physically speaking and I walk about seven miles every shift. Not to mention lifting, carrying, etc. I've got two years ICU experience (it's a second career, body was already kind of on a downward trend). Any suggestions for career paths? I do want to go back to school. Thanks J
