  1. Sometimes I need to scrub in during the middle of a surgery. The scrub tech will help me out, but sometimes the scrub tech has bloody gloves, and then hands me a towel to dry and helps me with my gloves (while the scrub tech's gloves are bloody). I know the risk of contracting any bloodborne pathogens are low, but it still seems careless to me. Does anyone have any recommendations of what I could say to the scrub tech? Or is this common practice and nothing to worry about? Thanks.
  2. I have dry skin and am an athlete so I commonly have a few cuts thorughout my arm that would be difficult to consistently cover. Any advice on how to avoid bbp.
  3. Hello, I am a new nurse concerned about universal precautions while giving CPR. I know CPR can be quite bloody depending on the situation. I have been told to always wear gloves and to wear facemasks when necessary. But what about protecting your arms, neck, etc.? How do you protect these areas from bloodborne pathogens if you were to have a cut or an open wound?
