  1. Yes, I got my associate degree RN before bridging over to BSN to get My MSN. My BSN did nothing for me...we spent a lot of time in my associates program in actual nursing care! In. BSN program it was all about leadership and research ..
  2. I love bedside nursing and hands on care. But I've been a RN for 9 years and a lot has changed. It's all about the numbers, patient satisfaction and I cater more to the family members which takes time from my patient care. That's one reason I'd decided to get my fnp as well as more time with my family etc.
  3. I work in a very faced paced nursing unit and work very hard as most floor nurses do! We have had several younger new grads that literally complain about how hard it is and then quit after orientation to go to a dr office etc. the work ethic of the 20-25 generation is terrible.... I have seen numerous new grads going straight to np school. Which in my opinion only hurts them in the long run. Rant over! Lol
  4. Question related to pharmaceutical reps. I am a np student and was invited to attend a dinner and lecture about a certain drug. My question is... do I go alone or bring my husband? Thoughts?
  5. Thank you all for your replies and help is appreciated!!
  6. I have 9 years experience as a RN. I am graduating soon from NP school. I have heard from several of my preceptors that I need to find another town to practice in after graduation due to low wages. My question is... What is an a acceptable hourly wage for a new FNP in a clinic setting? I don't want to get taken advantage of as a new NP by not knowing what I'm worth. Any advice would be appreciated. If you are in the North Alabama/southern Tennessee Area, do you mind sharing your salary info or if you were offered any other jobs you didn't take what did you get offered? I have heard 34-36/hr in this area is what a lot of people have been offered...also this area seems to be saturated with NPs. Thanks!
