  1. This is my second time applying (regrettably) and I've never gotten an evaluation; it is unacceptable that only some people received one when we all paid the same application fee. When I called them last cycle regarding the evaluation they said that it had already been sent out; I never received it (address confirmed). I feel like they lied just to get me off their backs. Calling them is like playing Russian roulette; you get the runaround when some misinformed person picks up and gives you sketchy sounding answers. Like others who have retaken classes at multiple schools, we just want to make sure that our grades were inputted properly to reflect our hard earned GPAs; which was not the case when I called them after the cycle ended to see what kind of grades they had for me. After painstakingly trying to get someone on the phone, they told me a GPA and credit hours that were way off from the evaluation I got from another program under similar guidelines. Apparently they had missed a few classes that I had retaken ONCE and even a few credit hours altogether. Had my grades and hours been inputted properly, I might have had a fair chance. I am not bitter at being denied, just very annoyed that I was not competing with accurate information. My biggest mistake was to not have called them again after a few weeks of waiting for the evaluation to make sure they sent it or verify with them my grades over the phone. I trusted UTHSC to accurately examine all my transcripts, but they really dissappointed me. A tip from all of this is to make sure that the information they have for you is reflective of what you really have (GPAs and credit hours) and don't take no for an answer. We paid an application fee for a reason and they need to do their job.
  2. Hey ya'll. Do you know if we'll be able to pick our classes, or are they assigned to us?
  3. I got accepted to Houston with 49.5-49.8 points I can't remember exactly.
  4. I am still debating that question. I am currently awaiting admissions to UTH, but I am leaning more toward TWU. I read that TWU have better preceptorships. I didn't feel like UTH was very helpful during the admissions process and even gave me the wrong information. TWU have been very transparent about the whole process and that gave me more confidence about how much they cared about the students. I also read that TWU students are much more prepared for clinicals since the program is paced out a bit longer (24mos) as opposed to UTH (15mos).
  5. Accepted to Houston with 49 points! I literally just woke up from my nap and refreshed my email, read the acceptance letter while still groggy and in a daze. Trying to process everything.
  6. I am so glad I chose to apply to TWU Nursing. Everyone here is so nice and eager to help each other out. I already get such a great sense of family and comradery among all of us here. It is especially heartwarming to see the TWU admissions team checking in on their potential future students to provide useful information and consolation for us impatient folks. I hope we all get the privilege of admissions and finally put a face to all the wonderful people we've been quoting back and forth. Best of luck to us all!!!
  7. Thanks for sharing your schedule. It seems like you have Fridays and the weekend to yourself, is that true?
  8. Thanks for sharing! This is great news!
  9. Thank you so much for sharing that information! Do you mind sharing what your weekly schedule is like?
  10. I forget how they are going to notify us. Is it going to be through email and a letter? Thanks guys.
  11. My application was processed. Last name starts with "L" and I have 49 points!
  12. Does anyone know if TWU updates the degree plan in the "webadvisor for students" portal? I noticed that all of my transcripts have been received but only TWO of my courses were posted...
  13. Sorry I posted under the wrong school.
  14. Since we both received the same score, I will offer two suggestions as to why I decided not to retake the test. 1. The questions are randomized. Unless you've recently taken prereqs like AP1&2 and English, you wont have a solid enough reservoir of knowledge to readily draw answers from. (unless you have a very good memory and can recall facts from years ago). 2. Only the most recent score will count, not the better one. With that being said, if you are confident that you can master the corresponding section of topics that you've missed (on top of the one you've already mastered), then I say go for it.
