  1. I have a question. I'm not sure if it is a "medical" question that I am not supposed to ask. If it is I am sorry. I have called my doctor about this and have gotten conflicting answers so I was wondering if anyone here might actually know what the right thing is. I am taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo and am supposed to get my period next week. I am going out of town to see m boyfriend and do not want to get my period. He is taking me out to a really fancy dinner and we're going out with his family one night and I don't want to have to worry about it. :heartbeat I know you can skip it with the pill but I'm not sure what to do. I was told that it wasn't a problem, just to skip the placebo pills. Then I was told that I can't do it without spotting and bloating everyday and I should have done it 3 months ago. Then I was told it could do it with no spotting if I skipped the placebo pills and started my new pack but did it backwards. Will I still be protected from preganancy? I am so confused at this point. I cannot seem to get a straight, consistant answer from any of the nurses. Any help or adivce would be wonderful!! Thank you soo much...and again, if I should not have asked this I am sorry. By the way, this sight is amazing and all the nurses here are awesome! I have received a lot of good information from reading the posts. Thanks!!!
  2. Ok...I think I might have a problem. I am currently on the birth control pill. I was supposed to start my period Sunday and haven't yet started (Tuesday morning). My boyfriend and I have been sleeping together but we haven't since the last time I got my period. I'm getting a little worried. My first question is: Will I most likely get a false positive on a home pregnancy test because I am on the pill? My second question is: I take my pill regularly and at the same time everyday give or take an hour or so. What are the chances that I could be pregnant? Does taking my pill at slightly different times each day reduce its effectivness? I have been on the pill for about 7 or 8 months. My starting date usually varies. Some months I start on Monday some on Wednesday. I know I may still get it but I am just freaking out a little bit. Is it possible that I was pregnant before I got my last period but still got my period? HELP!!!!!!!
  3. I am new to this site. I am considering becoming an ob/gyn nurse. I would like any and all information on this area. I need to know what the requirements are and how the field is in general. Thanks! Alex
