I should have clarified before, but the NCC I attend is Northampton Community College. Unfortunately, I don't know what the deadline is for January exactly, but I think acceptances are sent out in October, so it's sometime before then. There is a lot with the program acceptance process that feels so unorganized and very individualized. Almost like they have general rules they put out than others that the deciding committee actually follows.) I know for the Fall semester the TEAS deadline was like the first week in February for May admission letters to go out.

I would submit the application anyway but check with the nursing department directly. I did everything their website and their open house seminar said to do by the dates they said to do it. I still ended up submitting my TEAS scores "late." Thank God they took my scores anyway and accepted me into the program. But if I had just called their office, to begin with, I would have saved myself a lot of unnecessary stress

Thank you for replying. I understand what your saying about the degree. I have been looking into what the job postings are asking for and currently majority are just asking that you registered through an accredited program, the next highest request is experience. I've only come across one facility that stated they require a BSN. I know where I want to end up I just have to sift out the best route for me and my family. Thank you again for your insight!

Hi Everyone! I could really use some help from those that are already going through this walk. I am currently taking my pre-reqs before I can apply to a nursing program Im trying to do some research about schools in my area and am hitting a wall in one particular area. The Community College Im currently enrolled in has a nursing program and you graduate with an Associate in Applied Science (of nursing). But there is a Diploma program in my area that I have been looking into and so far like what the have to offer (I go in September for an information session). I know that a lot of jobs are degree driven now. What I was thinking to do is go for my general Associates in Applied Science then apply to the Diploma program for my Nursing certification (to take the NCLEX). Would that work? or am I missing something? I do plan con continuing my education to CNM but am looking for the most effective way to get started. Thank you for any advice you can give!
