Fake Nurse?
Best advice, I think. Economics should be left out family relations being too often it ends up in drama. If you're willing to lend money there is always a chance of not being repaid. It's a lesson learned, an expensive one. Do not lend money to people. Best chance if you want to take them to small claims court but, you would need to show paperwork of proof of loan.

Fake Nurse?
In California, a new grad can have interim permit, but, that shows up on the BRN, and from what I remember, is only good for 6 months while you're trying to get your license. You can be hired as an RN with the interim permit.

Being called an idiot
It's interesting how nursing makes you have thick skin, the whole environment, especially inpatient settings are so stressful. But, I think I draw the line on being called an idiot and being yelled at. I never been called an idiot, but, I have been yelled at in the beginning of my career. Unfortunately, I was a new grad and didn't think that a nurse can stick up for themselves. And, this was being yelled at by resident. Anyway, I noticed the physicians that are so quick to demean others are usually inadequate in their profession. Either, they have experienced being belittled by other physicians that they take their first chance to make other's feel little. Another reason could be complete lack of professionalism that I noticed, I've only experience with one foreign doctor who later got yelled at by a surgeon for leaving medication running.

Organ Donation Organization Unethical
I didn't say you have to accept my opinion, you can't even debate about it because it upsets you so much. You resort to judging my character, instead. I wanted to discuss and have discussed, since the first page, bringing in a third party after the family already made their wishes known regarding organ donation and during the grieving process seems predatory and unethical. You don't even like this topic being discussed, why are you here?
-
Organ Donation Organization Unethical
This is just my opinion, ethically, it would be wrong to not accept the family's initial decision and second. I really think during people's annual physical exams or even health insurance companies should mandate answering the question like in a packet, provide numbers to these organ procurement org. for further questions/information. I'm sure people's wishes to donate or not to, will be respected. No ethical committees would need to address the topic and no need to burden the family during the grieving process. Everything is already set.

Organ Donation Organization Unethical
Answering someone's question is not attacking them. No where in your quote I was calling name and demeaning. You're impartial and don't agree with me that's why you're resorting to judging my character. You don't even like this topic being discussed, clearly, why are you here? I've agreed with people's opinion that are contrary to mine. You chose to ignore. Why? Doesn't fit your narrative. Again, another example of YOUR impartiality. Facts do trump impartiality. Seems to me, you can't accept my opinion. This really, has nothing to do with the question on hand. Although you may not want to discuss people's thoughts and opinions on the matter, many other's do, including me. It is the law to in California to contact organ procurement organization. I wasn't questioning that. I wanted to discuss and have discussed, since the first page, bringing in a third party after the family already made their wishes known regarding organ donation and during the grieving process seems predatory and unethical.

CEO was mentioned once throughout my original post. I love ICU, that's why I've been in it. Again, you may not have seen it. Again, you may not have seen it. But, I have and other's too. You don't have to believe me, I came here because I wanted to know how other's feels about the process and if they experienced what I have. Clearly, a few people have, too. But, I'm glad you haven't. I wanted to have discussion with a lot of nurses, glad that I did, because allnurses is a perfect place to have a discussion. You can be pro organ donation and question certain practices. Inflammatory? How so? The only people that seems to be upset because they inferred questioning organ donation equates to being against it. I repeat. You can be pro organ donation and question certain practices.

Did I say it shouldn't be done? no. I asked, is it ethical to persuade someone during they grieving state? those are 2 different questions. I wish these decision were made in medical offices automatically. It should be part of your annual medical assessment, information should be given when the patient is fully alert. That's when I feel is the appropriate time. It would completely resolve the grey areas of seeming predatory.

I never debated organ procurement at work or discussed it with patients or their family members. I never once mentioned on this site I that I ever did. Why are you telling me something that I already don't do?? What I'm trying to say is maybe you should read what I'm saying before advising me.- Organ Donation Organization Unethical
When did I say I discussed organ donation with the family? You're arguing a point that wasn't made. Furthermore, no matter what, we are obligated to call organ procurement even if the family does say no or the patient does say no. Again, another grey area.- Do women find male nurses attractive?
