  1. Those of you at Chula Vista for the New Grad RN program. What time do "Class Days" start? Same place as our welcome meeting tomorrow, but I may have missed it if they went over the class start time. Thanks!
  2. I definitely agree with you on the references portion. I'm pretty much where you're at in the hiring process. Filled out the form, was explained the same thing, nothing after. Though, I was emailed to put down my references not through Harver, but this time through Workday... seemed odd but did it anyway LOL.
  3. For Harver references? They will send you an email notification that they have been completed and closed. It may close even if not all of your references completed their part. Mine closed with 3 of 4 completing the reference check, so I'm guessing 3 was good enough for them? As for your Harver status, you can always login and check the status of your references
  4. My reference check closed on 10/17 (around there LOL) and interviewed with CV on 10/19... and got the phone call today (10/21). They did tell me that I can expect a decision by the end of this weekend. So, if your unit told you something along those lines, I'm sure you'll hear something soon, especially if your Cohort starts Nov 10.
  5. Like contacted to set up an interview? I was contacted for an interview days before I received the reference check email, which closed a couple days prior to my interview. EDIT: I did get a call from CV this morning for a New Grad position.
  6. Yup. My friend was hired for the last cohort and he said that his was still "Under Consideration" even when they offered him the position
  7. Update: Got a phone call this morning and set up an interview
  8. I had a similar update on my application. For Sharp Chula Vista, does yours say "Fall Cohort"? Mine does. No unit, shift specified.
  9. Palomar Fall 2020 applicants pushed back to Spring 2021
  10. Is Zoom setup with every student in the chat? Curious because I’ve never used it and orientation is via Zoom. Thanks for all the info.
  11. I had 88 for sure. You can check my stats in the very first post.
  12. Guys, I’m shocked... a lot of you guys are getting denial letters. Better luck next time! EDIT: SWC is getting more competitive every year ?
  13. Got my acceptance at 1:31 pm! Yeeeesssss!
  14. Thanks for letting us know, Karen!
  15. So, no emails yet from the nursing program (paperwork, LVN dosage calculation, etc.)... at least no one in this group has received anything. Starting to feel like late May is more realistic for acceptances. It’s all good, but I wish we can get an update so I can get off my damn phone for a minute LOL. I freak out when I get multiple emails from allnurses. This time I received like 5 and the time stamps were a few minutes apart. I thought it was gonna be you guys saying you received your acceptance. Y’all got me -.-
  16. I would guess more classes, same amount of students. We can’t forget about clinicals and the amount sites SWC has. My friend who’s in the program told me they have 5 for their cohort. They probably have other sites for 2nd year students? Hospitals probably have a limit of how many SNs can be at the site in a assigned date put by the hospital. Also, they likely have other BSN/ADN programs assigned to their hospital as well. So dates are probably full? Hard to see more students accepted. We’ll see tho.
  17. I haven’t received any email regarding missing paperwork, etc.. If you’re talking about how they’ll make us send missing documents because of COVID-19, I really don’t know. Mailing is probably an option, though... at least it was when we had to submit our application by the deadline. I guess we’ll find out if they email us for paperwork. I’ll keep in touch if I hear anything! ?
  18. Yeah, I’m like refreshing my email every 10 min... I gotta stop or this wait is gonna drive me crazy and feel like forever LOL EDIT: IDK if LVNs have heard back for their dosage calculations... that usually comes first before acceptances go out. When that comes, I’ll probably refresh every minute?
  19. Based on what the email update and the website said, I wouldn’t expect anything this week or next week. If I remember correctly, the last two cohorts were notified on a Friday... so I’ll predict May 8 (at earliest) or May 15... assuming they’re on point with the ETA for acceptances. I wouldn’t be mad if they pushed back the date (like to late May) for acceptances because the coronavirus slowed admissions down. We’re close tho. Stay safe, guys.
  20. CHECK YOUR MAIL! Looks like we got an OFFICIAL update by SWC, guys. It was sent by the Program Technician couple minutes ago (April 3rd, 2020, 1:41 pm) Email said that they are still planning to have the Fall 2020 cohort, but decisions have been delayed until May 2020. Look out for follow-up emails for some other documents, etc
  21. Thanks for the update! Stay safe, guys.
  22. Ehh... I’m expecting to hear back mid May (tops)... I’ll probably start refreshing my emails mid April every 5 minutes lol.
  23. About 20 minutes away
  24. I know! I was by SWC Otay Mesa today. Just make sure you take the 905 again and exit on La Media Rd... I’m sure that’s what you did eventually? Last time Airway Rd was closed because of a flood (on the other side by La Media Rd) it had me take a U turn that didn’t exist/ was blocked off (I went straight South)... next thing you know I’m right next to the border telling US Customs how I got lost lol. Don’t listen to the GPS! lol
