  1. Health department seems way more right haha
  2. I had to google. All I could get to come up was dialysis because of HD lines, so I'm still confused
  3. Did any of y’all go through the recruiter Danielle? Because she is pushing through none of my applications and won’t answer any emails.
  4. Has anyone here done the new grad program? I am interviewing for it in a couple of weeks and just wanted to see how people liked it!
  5. Just curious where you're getting that from or which accreditation you're referring to. They are still accredited by Colorado board of nursing and ACEN among others so more information would be nice. Thanks!
  6. I think I waited until early-mid week of the 5th week of waiting for the July start so they really make you wait those 6 weeks!
  7. I just had my interview on Tuesday and he says it's still going to be a few weeks before they start contacting alternates!
  8. Mine was really just about my decision to persue nursing. I briefly mentioned my cna experience as well. I wouldn't stress too much about it. Just talk about what led you to this field!
  9. My friend also made alternate but apparently when she called the lady said they end up taking a lot of their alternates so fingers crossed!
  10. Just so you know I just got my acceptance so be watching your email!
  11. My friend and I were wondering if they sent them out to not accepted as well. I guess we will find out. My friend and I think that since the lady said Friday it probably won't be until Friday since schools always like to keep us waiting!
  12. Hello all! Just wondering if anyone else had applied for July. My friend called today and the lady said they would be letting everyone know by the end of the week if they would need to schedule their interview!

They weren't bad. If you've taken A&P recently I wouldn't be too worried about it.

So I took the TEAS VI yesterday and I just wanted to let you guys know what it was like. I didn't prepare at all for it because I found out this school took this over the HESI, which I took a few weeks ago, 3 days ago. Despite not studying my overall score was an 80%. I think this is because I found it to be pretty similar to the HESI which I had studied a couple of weeks for before I took it. I found it to be the same kind of english questions you will see a lot of places like the theme, what kind of passage it was, entertainment, informative, etc., just things like that. I didn't find this section to be particularly hard. Just take the time to read the passages. I had plenty of time to read them a couple of times through. Math is the only section where I had a little bit of a time crunch, but I had about 10 minutes left on the section when I finished it. You do have a calculator you can use the whole time which is super nice! It is a lot of algebra, word problems, and fractions. There were very few questions that tripped me up in this section. I would say comparative to the HESI is that it had a lot more wording to some of the problems. Just try and pick out the numbers and don't read to much into it and you should be fine. I double checked all my answers with the calculator just in case and really utilized my scratch paper on this section! Science was really A&P heavy. I would say like 80% of my questions seemed like A&P. If you know your body systems you can probably do really well. This was my lowest section just because even though I have taken A&P I didn't have to take it on my HESI so I wasn't as prepared for it. English and language usage wasn't too bad either. Just know your grammar use context clues in case you don't know what a word means. It really wasn't too bad. The test is suppose to take 3.5 hours, but I finished it in 1. The lady was super surprised by this and didn't believe I'd really finished, but I always tend to fly through tests. If you leave yourself enough time at the end of each section you can go back through the section before you submit it and check your answers. I hope this helps a little bit!
  15. I just wanted to add to your math portion, know mixed numbers to improper fractions. I had a ton of questions where I had to do that a super easy thing to do but just an fyi for everyone! I agree though I wouldn't stress about that section. I was afraid there were going to be a lot of conversion questions but it ended up being not as bad as I thought and I got a 98 on that section. Thanks so much for all your advice because I did well in all my sections based on those tips!
  16. I'm also in Colorado and from what I've heard the market out here is very competitive. I was told by an advisor that last year UNC's lowest GPA in their program was 3.89, but there are quite a few accelerated programs in Colorado so I have looked into others which seem a little more reasonable. Like others have said just really know which programs you're strongly looking at and again there are quite a few around here you may want to definitely look into! Good luck!
  17. Nope I didn't really read outside of class. However, this is because I found that the lectures we had in my class were straight for the text and covered everything we would need to know. I took the occasional notes but for the most part I would follow along in the book for class and highlight what I thought was important, but again I didn't open it outside of class. I had a good teacher in my lecture though so it probably depends. I found that my class stressed the skills a lot more. The written portion of the CNA test is pretty easy and almost everyone passes it from what I've heard. It's the skills I was really told to focus on just because depending on the person testing you depends on how lenient they are when you miss a smaller step. Obviously the bolded steps on the skills you must get to pass.
