Current WGU RN-BSN Students- Review
I am trying to decide between going back to Walden (6 classes=34 credits left) which will take me about a year to complete and around $11K ($1000 over what tuition reimbursement will cover) or to transfer to WGU. I am on the fence about returning to Walden because they have increased their tuition, I dislike the discussion boards and the endless amount of papers. The discussion boards seem like a never ending process. You post a response, reply to 3 other responses, and have to reply to each person that responds to your post. I have been accepted to WGU and only have the background check and intake interview left. I will have 34 credits to take at WGU. I do not want to pay for the background just yet since I have not decided on attending WGU. Any current WGU RN-BSN students out there? How far are you in the program? Are you liking the self-paced, competency based program? What type of competences have you had to complete for the classes? How long is it taking you to complete a class? How long do you think it will take for you to complete the program? Thanks in advance for the info

RN to BSN- Statistics requirement (appeal)
I have researched several online RN to BSN programs. Many if not all, give credit transfer for Probability and Statistics regardless of how long ago the course was taken. WGU seems to be the exception. The course had to be taken in the last 5 years. I appealed the decision on my transfer credits before I knew of their time line requirement. Anyone been in this situation and not have to repeat the course?

RN to BSN- Fort Hays, University Of Alabama, or WGU?
I was originally enrolled in the RN to BSN program at Walden where I have taken 4 nursing courses. I have 34 credit hours (6 courses) left to take. I took a leave of absence a year ago for medical and personal reasons. I recently inquired about restarting the program and noticed that they have increased their tuition rates. I wasn't all that happy with their program and since tuition is so high I started looking at other institutions. My employer offers tuition reimbursement and now the yearly maximum will be reached in 1-1 1/2 semesters at Walden because of their tuition rate. So I need to find a program that costs much less. I have looked at the University of Alabama, Fort Hays State University, Southeast Missouri State University, TTUHSC, West Texas A&M, University of Texas at Arlington, and WGU just to name a few. I have narrowed my choices down to 3 colleges. Anyone have any experience with University of Alabama's RN to BSN program? Alabama seems to have a good program and I would only need to take 1 prerequisite course compared to 2-4 at the other institutions listed. The cost will be about $8700 total. Anyone attend Fort Hays State University? Their program looks good as well and the tuition is only $207/credit. I have read quite a bit on here about WGU and have spoken with their Enrollment Adviser. There were several comments on the boards regarding others feeling like their mentor was holding back on opening courses and causing them to not be able to complete the program at a fast pace like they wanted. I would appreciate feedback from current students at WGU. Anyone attend either of these 3 colleges? I would like to hear about your experience with them. Thanks a bunch!
