  1. I am a new nurse, just about 1 yr experience , i was hired at an assisted living facilty , i was fired for a med error. my Don said i gave aspirin at a wrong time - i felt terrible , she said it happened multiple times and they are also informing the state. I told her i popped it by accident , the facility marks there blister packs by different colors for QAM , HS and BID meds but it can get confusing at times - i told her i wasted the medication. I never had been written up or had any issues, i asked for probation anything . They refused and said i was fired and they are going to audit the med cart. Don said its there policy and they are concerned about patient care , but no harm was done because i never administred the medication. They had me work the rest of the shift , i was so upset , i was trying to focus but now all i keep thinking is they are auditing me and i cant remember what i did. I cant believe i just got my first job and they called the state. They reported i gave aspirin mulitple times at wrong mar time code , and upon audit "15 med errors were found that may be contributed to me " ( thats what the state complaint says) what should i do ? Is my nursing career over ?
