It says that the semester you're placed in is random, but you can bypass the random process by selecting winter. So basically the same as last year. There's no date for orientation. It just says we'll receive more information about that in April.

Crossing my fingers and hoping for fall!

Just got home and found an acceptance letter in my mailbox!!! Congratulations everyone!!

Congratulations studentmom!! I'm stuck at work until 5, but I'll keep you guys posted.

No letter here in clarkston, but hey I did get my employee discount card from work... lol

Jolene my granny came down with Alzheimer's the last few years of her life and that's some of the reason I thought about it. I'd go and see her at the nursing home but when I'd be there I'd sit and talk to some of the other residents also. I was surprised at how some of them wouldn't get visitors.

Jolene no I haven't worked in ltc yet, but that's why I won't know for sure what I'm gonna do until I work in a few areas in clinicals. I know if I'm not constantly busy and occupied I start chomping at the bit. So it will need to be something where I'm not sitting idle for too long.

Jolene what your cousin is saying all seems to be very true when I go there. I'm not 100% sure what direction I want to go in right now cause I think I need to work in a few areas to know. I've thought about working with the elderly or critically ill even though it's an unpopular choice. I just feel that most of us will be there one day and this population really needs the help.

Anapanc very true, she wasn't tough out of meaness like some professors are. I took ramy in the fall to mix things up and they were both very good. Different teaching styles, but I felt that both prepared me for the program

Anapanc I took the accelerated ap 1 with dr aretha last summer. She was very nice and helpful, but tough and I felt lucky to get out alive. I had to study til I dropped to get a good grade in her class. Lol

Jolene I've had va healthcare at the ann arbor va for the last 10 years and I've noticed in the last few years most of the nurses there are foreign. And I'm usually very disappointed to see that being that it's supposed to be a last resort for them to hire foreigners. They're supposed to give preference to qualified veterans and then American citizens that aren't veterans second. So I don't know why I'm mostly only seeing foreign nurses when I go there lately. And it's the same thing in their pharmacy. All the new pharmacy technicians are foreign.

I have the day off from work tomorrow so at least I'll be home when the mail comes.

Aww thank you mrsbado. I'm pretty sure that today will be the day for at least one of us up in here. No doubt someone will be posting about their acceptance letter and we'll all be cheering by the end of the day!! :-)

I took ramy for ap 2 last fall. I was the petite blonde girl with glasses that sat in the front row.

@ebony yes I feel your pain, I got a couple of those letters from the administration center saying I meet the requirements for a degree in GS and it psyched me out for nothing. I know I meet the requirements for that cause I have a degree in GS from Schoolcraft already!! Lol I have 16.58 points, I was just determined to do the best I could when I took the 3 BIO prerequisites in the Summer and Fall semesters last year. The AP1 I took in the summer was accelerated with a tough professor and I about had to study til I dropped. Let me tell you I felt fortunate to get out of that one alive. Lol I also took the POL and nutrition classes while I took the BIO prerequisites in addition to running my small home business. It was tough at times but it really helped to follow a written schedule. I was just ready to do this and knew that the time is now. The 2 ENG COMP classes I just really liked because I enjoy writing and doing research. So exciting to know they are FINALLY in the mail cause I've been chomping at the bit to get this ball rolling! It'll be nice to know which semester I'm starting in so I can plan for this. I've been wanting to do this for a long time and it's nice to be able to do this finally. Look forward to meeting you all! :)

The prices for these books on Amazon marketplace are much much cheaper. I ordered the previous edition of the math calculation book since it appears to be the same book only it costs a penny. The numbers haven't changed since the last edition I'm sure.

Lol well we can try, if anything we'll have a good meal and some exercise.

I keep getting letters from the occ administration center which psyches me out for nothing!!

Oh wow, well I hope it doesn't get delayed even further back than the 21st. I wonder why there wasn't a mass email sent to the applicants about the delay? That way people won't be calling as much wondering where the letters are.

Hi jolene and welcome back! Yes I was also thinking that maybe some of the applicants this year are less qualified. And yes everything definitely does happen for a reason. Now is a great time for us to do this. Getting into and going through nursing school is never easy, but we're going to have a lot better time of it than the students during the recession did
