  1. Hello everyone, I promise to myself that I will share my journey of nursing if I pass my NCLEX. I just received my RN, BSN license today (7/6), so I just want to spread the words and hoping that it will easier some anxiety and doubt, because I know how it feel. First off, I just graduated from Accelerated secondary nursing degree program in OU, MI in April, 2016. I took a job offered right out from grad school as a GN. At the same time, I sign up for Kaplan in-class course ($395 with discount). I'm a type of person who learned better in person. However, I don't think the in-class help; because I did not use the decision tree at all (it is hard to me to all apply to each NCLEX questions). After one week of Kaplan in-class course, I register my NCLEX exam day to be in june 28 @8am (the reason for that long, because I have to start my new GN job and it took me 3 time longer for me to learn) By the mid of 4 weeks, I feel so paranoid and nervous because most of my friends from class are passing NCLEX on there first try and most of them pass with 75 questions. I start to get frustrate with Kaplan because their decision tree just making me more confused and there rational is not as good. With 2 weeks left to the exam, so far I have over 50 pages of note (just tons of information that I gather from the rational of each questions that I forget or didn't know). One of my classmate use U-World and she said it is very similar to NCLEX also and it is way cheaper than Kaplan, so she let me use it the last 2 weeks since she already pass the NCLEX. So for the next 2 weeks, I just focus on doing practice questions from U-World and Kaplan and take some days in between to look over my notes. By the end of 6 weeks, I did over 5000 questions from both Kaplan and U-world. I can feel that I can finally understand the NCLEX ways of asking questions. I kept studying up til half an hr of my NCLEX exam (I'm the type of person will study till I can no longer do so, but other will take a day before off). During the exam, I was so confused and keep begging for more all that apply questions (I know it sounds crazy, but you want this type of questions) because that when I know that I answered my questions right, which give me more chance to pass. After finished answered question 75, the computer keep going. I feel drown, but I have to keep going. The last time I look up I was at question 92. After about 15 minute later, the computer shut off (between 92-100 questions). I was confused and nervous. All I want to know is questions are it stop at, but I marked the number of all that apply questions(15 questions to be exact). I walked out of the exam room feeling so released, but terrified at the same time. I called my bf and told him that I think I fail. For the next 6 hours, I kept going to the Pearson site to check for my result, but it wont be available til 48 hrs after. I even try the Pearson trick and it kept leading me to the credit card page. At that moment, I know I fail, because most of my classmate said that they do that trick and it works. I feel like S*** that whole day. I feel embarrassed because I already have a job. I feel like I let my parents and bf down. I also don't know what else to study at this point if I fail. The next day @ 6am, I woke up to get ready for work and suddenly remember that one of my classmate sent me a text 2 weeks ago that show her active license via Lara. So I sign in Lara, MI to check for my license verification. My heart sunk, I was speechless. My license is right there and it has an expiration day!!! I still not convinced that I pass because the Pearson site still show that my result is not yet to be reviewed. Since I was at work that day, I went down to human resource (HR) and asked them to verify and they told me that I pass!!! Im so sorry for the long story and my grammar and tenses. Before my graduation, I was googling like crazy to find some tip and I did found some. Therefore, I just want to give back the favor. Here are some main points. 1. I would buy the Kaplan Q bank only for question practice 2. Use u-world. I would recommend it because they have very good rationalizations 3. Give yourself enough time to study. Personally, I did 2-3 set of 75 questions a day and take note on information that I don't know and need to look over later. 4.It is true that you need to know how to answer the questions, but also, you need to know some basic nursing material. 5. The Pearson trick is not really work. Use Lara license verification (mind posted within 20 hours). use HR (if you already working) to help you verified your result, so you don't have to save yourself $8 Good luck everyone!! Be confidence and believed in yourself. You are going to be a great nurse.
