I love these boards and always research and research through for answers or just to help calm my test anxiety. July 2nd 2016 I took my Nclex after fighting with NJBON for my ATT. I purchased UWORLD and Learning EXT. The UWORLD interface made me comfortable with the Nclex because it was so similar in the outlay almost the same color as well. Learning Ext i used for 2 weeks. The material was a review type of program it went in depth although I felt like it misses the mark. It wasnt very organized and I didnt like the question type. The material provided was good but way to much for me. So I let it expire and continued with UWorld. I loved the rationales anything I didnt know I looked up and wrote down my percentages were 60-74 in the 90th percentile. I did 75 question test every day for 3 weeks went on vacation then when I returned back I did the same. I also used my exam cram, La Charity, and Lippinicott android app on my phone. These resources were just fill in things I did when I was bored at work or didnt want to do Uworld. The Nclex... My test was at 8am in somerset NJ. I arrived at 7:30 and was in front of the screen by exactly. I was soooo nervous! answers to frequently asked questions... I was done in 45min with 75 questions. I had alot i mean alot of EKG strips and questions about Rhythms and treatment for certain rhythms. I had alot of OB and Infection control I would say those 3 topics were 85% of my test. Sata i had more then 10 maybe every few questions was an SATA. I had an exhibit question and no hotspots, no math, and no meds. I felt in my opinion no material can really prepare you for the Nclex because they are not content based questions. For instance one of my question you had to choose which patient to see 1st the two i narrowed it down to was one patient was post surgery with bright red blood at the incision and the other patient was some sort of respiratory patient who was apprehensive. The test requires you to think and use reasoning. I think when we all prepare prior to the test it is mostly to make sure you know the basic knowledge of a nurse and also how read a question and answer it reasonable. It is good to know your content but critical thinking is a must because they do not simply ask about fluid overload but give you the scenario and you have to realize the patient is in fluid overload. I left the test feeling so unsure because for every questions i thought to myself "I have no clue" PVT... another hot topic yes i did do the trick twice. I notice a lot of people have mixed reviews and alot of people say oh it didnt work. So when I was an LPN at that time the PVT wouldnt let you go to the credit card page things have changed. I did the trick using my valid debit card and didnt switch any information (it has been said even with invalid information money has been taken) either way if i had to take it again it would have been 200$ well spent and If I didnt well I would have lost 200$. I put in all my correct info and hit submit on both pages you must go all the way with it. It did not let me register and that was within 30min of taking the test. I did it again 24hrs later and it did not let me register. July 4th the holiday I received my Quick Results at 9am of Pass and Today July 5th my license at 8:30 am was active with my Number on the NJ BON website which is a huge surprise. For anyone that knows NJ BON they are not the greatest or fastest for my LPN it took 3wks after my test. So this is my experience sorry it is so long lol but I know just a few weeks and days ago I was combing this site for some of the same information and a lot of the stuff on here is outdated. If you have any questions please ask me I would love to answer.
