Has anyone ever heard of hospitals that will pay you out of your contract, for example you sign a 2 year contract at a hospital for 10K signing bonus, but if you want to leave after 14 months you have to pay back 7.5K. You want to leave to a new hospital far far away. Will any hospitals pay this for you? Anyone?? Trying to move back to MN from the East Coast.

My wife and I are thinking about moving there for my job. She is looking at this hospital. Did they mention you starting pay. My wife has 1 year of Critical Care. Is there differential pay? Good health benefits? Any help would be helpful for us. Thank you.

Anyone have any good things to say about Abbott Northwestern or Fairview Southdale? Any guesses on 4 year RN wages w/ 1 year ICU experience for these two hospitals or area hospitals? Thanks for your help!

Anyone who can help, I'm a beginning airline pilot (~2 years into it) and my wife has 1 year of ICU experience with a 4 year RN. I want to move to the MSP area for a new job and my wife, the nurse wants to head back too. Are there any hospitals in the metro area or even ST. Cloud that has new-hire benefits like moving assistance? or pehaps signing bonuses? Probably not unless she's a new-grad RN. Out in Virginia she got 10K for a two year contract and they paid us 2K to move us out here. Know anything back home? Thanks in advance!

Yes, I'm an airline pilot and will be moving to RDU soon. My wife has 1-2 years of ICU nursing with a BSN (I'm asking/researching because I'm a 'gung-ho' researcher prior to life changing events). 1- Do people like it and is it affordable? 2- For planning purposes, do you know ~$ per hour she could expect at the area hospitals? Interesting. My fiance is a nurse and we're moving to that area. We want to move to Chesapeake area and she might want to work at Chesapeake General Hospital. Has anyone heard anything on them like pay and weekend pay like that Sentara stuff? Any info ya'll can provide on Chesapeake General would help us out a lot. She is graduating in May w/ a four year degree in nursing and has a preference in working in ER or cardio, but she's pretty flexible (or so I think). Thanks!

I see. Can you point us in any direction as to whom (the best option) to contact (ie agents or recruiters or whatever) and how long do the contracts work? She has 2 yrs of co-op experience at a hospital in ortho-ped, wonder if that's good enough? To us that sounds like an awesome and smart option. I know very little but this is how I hope it would be- -Us living near the Norfolk area where I'm based and her making good $$ (cuz we don't get paid worth a hoot - 22K a year) to pay off loans and save big time on rent w/ paid for housing. But I'd assume they throw their nurses from hospital to hospital every month or so or is it pretty much stuck in one they choose? Hi, I'm wondering if its true what I heard- travel nurses are not well liked at hospitals that work them because the permanent nurses see them as using the system and getting overpaid. Is that a myth? How is their relationship? Also, I'm actually doing this research for my fiance....I'm a beginning airline pilot and I can live anywhere I want to live, however I'm based on the East coast (Virginia to be exact) which means I can commute to work for free on any airline. So what we're thinking is that my fiance could get a travel nurse job which means we could pay off our college loans faster and then after about 3 yrs worth of that she wants to go on to get her nurse pract. What would be great is if she could get a job based on the East coast, hopefully the Virginia area. Does that sound possible? She's a 4 yr RN (think ya'll call that a BSN?). Please help out, moneys very tight right now and this seems smart.
