  1. Hey! Anyone else apply to Frontier Nursing University for their PMHNP Spring 2022? Also, any current students or alum have any advice or want to share how their experience has been? Waiting 6-8 weeks to hear about acceptance is going to feel like foreverrrrrrr! How many students (PMHNP) are in each Bound orientation? Trying to get an idea for how many they accept...
  2. Hey! I replied earlier and I have no idea where that reply went--so sorry if I am repeating myself somewhere on here. But to answer your question (again ha), 1st semester schedule was much more manageable than summer semester. We started clinicals in mid-end of February. In January you will feel like you are going to "campus" a lot because Basic Skills class is about 2 weeks of learning all the skills. After that, we would meet together to take a proctored test at least once a week or every other. And we would be doing clinicals 2 times a week, sometimes once. Glad to hear they have 15 spots this year for Dallas! When I entered there were 11 of us here in Dallas. Good job on interviews, people! Excited for the journey you guys are about to embark on!
  3. Hey guys!! I am currently in the Dallas cohort, and we are about to start our final semester--yay!!! You guys who got interviews will do awesome! Contact me if you have any questions. One piece of advice for those who maybe didn't have a ton of clinical experience like me---I really highlighted my volunteer work and cultural experiences. I think that the panel values your involvement in any activities outside your day to day job.....good luck guys!!! Oh, and if possible, be open to going to a different area. I.e. if you don't get into your first choice location, be open to another.
  4. Hey Dallas people--has anyone received an Orientation email yet?! Isn't it this coming Wednesday....just wondering about the details. =)
  5. Ditto! When any of you start figuring out loan stuff let me know! I filled out my FAFSA....just waiting to see how it all plays out. I talked to the financial aid office today (not sure if I was communicating clearly the program I'm in), and she said that typically students would receive about $6250 loan a semester. Again---this is all new to me so if I'm confusing anyone, it's because I am also a little confused. Anyway, does anyone know realistically how much tuition/fees/books will cost each semester. I know there are figures on the website, but just thought someone might have a friend in the program that can give their figures.
  6. Guys....I know this might be a silly question, but is a BLS course sufficient for the BLS CPR requirement? Many of the courses I am searching for are only BLS. Thanks! =)
  7. @Mhowell10, I did! Message me and let's connect on facebook!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!
  8. Dallas applicants--what do you all think about the small class size they are taking this cycle? Any thoughts on that...like do you think they are phasing out the program in Dallas, or maybe they just can't find enough clinical coaches? I've just been curious....
  9. Good question @gnab419! If Dallas is full, I hope if there are openings they would consider putting me somewhere else. =/
  10. @promix4him, are you serious????? What about for those of us who interviewed in Austin 2 and a half weeks ago?!?! Who did you talk to? And were they certain that we wouldn't hear anything today?
  11. Really hoping that tomorrow is the day!! Fingers crossed!!
  12. Guys, the waiting is driving me crazy! But the info sheet we received at interviews said we would hear in Sept. I think it will also be this week that we hear (at least for Dallas and Austin and whoever interviewed in Austin the first week). Also someone mentioned that they asked at their interview and the former student said we would probably hear week of Labor Day. I also think they will send out the acceptance emails in batches. The waiting is agonizing!!!
  13. @ckhrobison How was it?! Were the questions pretty much the same as what we all posted previously?
  14. Yes, Lubbock interviewers let us know how they go!
  15. Me too!!! I want to know! Anyone think we will find out at the end of this week?! =)
  16. @promix4him, all of the questions that people have previously posted on this blog. Like: "What experience do you have with online learning, and what skills do you possess that would make you successful in this program?" They ask about previous healthcare experience, and volunteer. And also how you deal with stress. =)
  17. Hey everyone, I also interviewed yesterday morning, and I was nervous. When I left, I was also thinking about things I could have went in to more detail about in my answers. Womp. Anyway, anyone else have anything to share about how their experience went?! It seems like it happened so fast---wish I could have said more!
  18. @Irish_mist, many of us are interviewing tomorrow! From your experience, what are important things that the program looks for? What would you say is/are something that really helped you in getting accepted? I am also applying for the Dallas program! And do you know--are they still only accepting 15 new students? @skhansaba, any idea how many people are applying for the Dallas location?
  19. @promix4him, I agree that the wording on the letter definitely got my hopes up initially....I don't know if this is just the standard way they send it to all applicants?! Kind of tricky....
