I have accepted my offer to McMaster! Has anyone else? And is there a Facebook group created? :) Side note: I will be declining Nipissing SPP, York, Trent & Humber so those slots will open up to people waiting to hear! And if I receive an acceptance to Western or UofT, I will be passing on those as well! Super excited to go to Mac in the fall :)!!

@mikey196 thank you!!! My cGPA isn't actually all that great, I didnt do so hot in first year which set me back, but overall it's 74.5%. My marks in 3rd and 4th year were all above 80% and my pre-reqs were good as well! And my degree was in Biochemistry so that might have been a factor. But I am honestly guessing I did really well on CASPer because every school I've applied to with that requirement I have received an acceptance for. @qusp thank you, congrats to you too :)

I just checked MyFile for York and my status changed to Admitted! So for anyone still waiting it looks like they're sending out acceptances and you should check :)

For Western, my student center updated to say that further grades are required, which wouldn't worry me other than the fact that I did not take any courses this semester so I will have to follow up with them. For those that have been accepted to Western, first of all congrats! and second, what was your avg in the past two years?

I received an acceptance from Trent today as well! I am hoping for something a little closer to home because I don't want to move to Peterborough. I am going to weigh my options and see if I receive any more acceptances, but it will probably be an open spot for someone else waiting to get in :)

For the people that have been accepted to Trent, what was your average in the last two years!? Just trying to judge where I stand now that they're sending out acceptances :)

Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2017)
Hey guys! My supplementary application on Mosaic has changed to completed as well! I wrote my CASPer on Feb 16 so that seems fairly fast. Are we sure this is referring to CASPer or could it be the prerequisite form?

Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2017)
Thank you nicbrad_ for the tips for CASPer! I wrote the test this past Thursday as well. As far as I know, it will take up to ~4 weeks for the results to even be processed and sent to the schools so it will be a while until we hear from any of those schools. Hopefully it doesn't take that long, but for now it's just a waiting game. I applied to quite a few schools because I was anxious about the process, so I'll be sitting on my Humber acceptance for a bit (it's not a far commute for me so it would be a good fit). Hopefully the waiting process for the other schools isn't painful but I feel like it will be unfortunately! Good luck everyone :)

Hey hjk1234! I am new to the GPA scale, so I am curious what your average was in percentage? I am assuming you were accepted to Humber based on your 3.6 but I don't know exactly what that is. I've had a hard time converting my percent but I think I will be 3.4 (I have an 82% for my last 2 years). Also, when were you accepted to Humber? Thanks!

Looks like you're in good standing alexab09! I'm hoping to be around 82-83 for the final 2 years after this semester. I am thinking about doing a few more courses in the Winter. Does anyone know if you can be rejected (say from Western) for only having an 82% when the cut off is 84% even if you are enrolled in courses in the winter? Or would they hold your application until the final grades are released in April?

Hi sportnurse2b13, Thats unfortunate about ending your Masters, but I was in the same boat. I backed out just before I was supposed to start this Fall. Whatever makes you happy :) And thats a tricky situation for phys. If I were you I would re-take it just to keep my options open. But its a tough call. Is your 3.7 cumulative or for the most recent 10 credits? And alexab09, I don't think schools give preference to people that apply early. But I could be wrong! What is your cumulative average and your average in the last 10 credits? :)

Hey sportnurse2b13! Are you finishing up your Masters or stopping part way through? I find some of the requirements pretty vague as well... so hopefully you get it sorted out! What average will you be applying with from your undergrad? Best of luck to you too :)

Nipissing SPP / Trent Compressed Nursing Admission Requirements
Hey, I contacted Nipissing SPP in the summer about course requirements as I am also taking courses after graduating June 2016. She told me that they will only take courses up until August 2016 for the admission average (so I did courses in the summer), however she said you have until June 2017 to complete prerequisite courses (I'm doing anatomy this fall). I hope this helps. What is your average like before taking courses this fall? Good luck :)

2017 Accelerated Nursing Hopefuls
Hey everyone! I know I am super early to be posting but I am sure some of you are in the same boat as me! I just graduated in BSc Biochemistry from the University of Guelph (last week actually) and am planning to apply to Accelerated Nursing Programs next December/January. I am going to apply to McMaster (2 and 4 year), Western (2 and 4 year), Queens 2 year, UoT 2 year, and Humber 2 year. My cGPA is 72.7% right now (because of first and second year). My GPA in the last 10 credits is 77%. My average in my final year is 83%. I am taking courses this summer and fall and hoping my cGPA will be up to 75% and GPA in the last 10 credits up to 84%. I have volunteered in the ER at one hospital and in the Hospital Elder Life Program at another. And I completed a fourth year research project. I know these programs are very competitive and I am already stressing, though months away, about the application process. I am wondering -what is your cGPA/GPA in the last 10 credits -what schools you're applying to and why -extracurricular activities -any concerns/questions you may have? Good luck to everyone and hopefully we can get through this stressful process together!!!
