Students that are on the waitlist most likely are getting fingerprints done in case any student doesn't pass their background check or something occurs to them to not continue

What time did you see the email? I'm saying maybe if you saw the email early enough there was probably spots open for today near the evening but it doesn't matter now

I just noticed but the email was sent at 8 am I wonder whether there were times for today. Mine set for tommmorow at 430

Looks like the ball is finally rolling, just got the email for us to start our State BON background check, Can't wait to have all the paperwork stuff done and start school in Janruary.

For a waitlist? Or acceptance, cause for the most part this thread is done and everyone has either been accepted or waitlisted.

you need to email them in tomorrow asap, the mystar acceptance and deadline are 2 different things since you need to sign and date the required paperwork on the mail that was sent, i asked about that when i first got them and was told you need to respond and have the paperwork submitted by the deadline.

I think the majority of us have heard back as accepted and the reason the thread is dead is cause we are waiting on the background checks to come out for November

Im not getting textbooks till december, i think we need a student id or something to buy our stuff from the bookstore

Congrats to the both of y'all and you can do your immunizations and bls as well..since utmb now has a contract with a new background company they will be getting a copy of our immunizations, bls(which needs to stay valid throughout the program) and be doing our background check and urinalysis.. we won't be getting the a okay for the 2 background checks till mid November when they send out the emails for us to register for them. Congrats now you get to wait more like the rest of us :) and when you get on the fb page for the class just ask who else is looking for a place..some have already asked on the thread so it wouldn't be an issue as we will all meet each other...living off campus is ideal as I know the on campus living arraignment can be full since they only have so much room

Also wouldn't hurt to actually post something on the fb..I'm sure someone else is in the same situation...we are all gonna end up meeting eventually so it's best to get to know each other sooner than later

That's alright I was like that as well when I got accepted the wait was dreadful and now we all wait till November till we can finish the rest of the process

This is probably your best spot from what I know people usually couple up into a group of 4 and rent a house..that's my advice...also depends on what kind of drive you want when going to class and going to clinicals..I'll be moving near the campus with my wife and dog and I can already tell you now by the calls I have if you are moving and have a big dog it's gonna be hard..best of luck

I was accepted the 1st week they gave them out which was august 1 for me, I got the student guide last week so about a month and some change

Facebook link was sent out with the student guide via email, if you haven't received it you will have to wait until that email is sent to you especially if you were just accepted.

To answer the questions about stats if you look at the thread I don't think any of us who have been accepted had amazing stats so that's not how they do it I would guess. From previous threads not everyone gets and interview so it's a good start, also remember that Harvey hit and they were delayed so you never know what kind of interview this is..good luck

The one thing we can do is follow the link to our white coat ceremony and put down our sizes and submit it

Looks like they got contracted with a different background company and seems we have to send them our immunization records instead of utmb how awesome...

You can take one if you want too,just to make sure you are clean if you don't know but other than that it's a waste of money, only when utmb sends us the registration email will they need it as all the results will be sent to the school and I'm sure you need a school identification number to send results..so no I wouldn't bother with it

Yes we will have 2 different background checks done on us as soon as they send emails to register for them, we will have a standard FBI background check with fingerprints and picture..then a private company do a thorough background check on us..as well as a urine drug test

You can fill it out and they can sign the bottom of the paper, I would say let them do it cause they are the doctor ha...fyi I know it says it on the paper but if the doctor signs it and list his contact information you do not submit any record besides the immunization sheet

Idk about everyone but all this waiting to complete the rest of the requirements for school is grueling
