  1. I think so but I'm not sure. You think we will hear back from Pima this week? I'm getting very anxious!
  2. I hope we both get in as well, I'm not so confident about NAU but I'm just hoping I'll get into one of the programs. Ugh the wait has been killing me as well, I'm so anxious to hear back from Pima. I hate that we have to wait so long!
  3. I had an appointment today with her and turned in my application. Joanne said that my score was on the low side, apparently to be competitive you need to have an 80 or higher in all categories of the test not just the overall score. Thankfully Pima is my backup in case I don't get in to NAU. Have you turned in your application yet?
  4. I took mine on Friday and I got a 78 overall, I did worse on the science portion this time but better in the math. How did your test go? Do you know if you can access old kaplan exam results? I did better on the science when I took it in September but I cannot find my print out of the results anywhere and I need it to turn in with my application since it would be from the last application cycle. I've looked online but cant find anything addressing it.
  5. I did submit my application in person.. I don't have my exact scores for the Kaplan, I can't find them but I know I got an overall score in the 70's my first time around ( I did not study prior). I would brush up on overall grammar, math was a lot of conversions, the anatomy section was all A&P 2, it was more specific rather than generalized like the hesi. I would search more forum topics in allnurses over the Kaplan I've found some that were very informative and offered more information than I can give. My anatomy professor recommend picking up an anatomy for dummies book she said that helped a lot of students. When are you taking the exam?
  6. I got an 86 the second time around, the science portion messed up my score I got 90's in the reading and math sections. I completely overthought the anatomy portion and made stupid mistakes. I don't know anyone that is applying, I do have a friend that got accepted and is starting in the spring semester though. The kaplan is much harder than the HESI, while the HESI covers A&P I and II the HESI only covers II. I had a tough time with the grammar portion as well. I'm so anxious to find out if I got into the Pima program though, waiting is killing me!
  7. Yeah, it does, and I have. The only reason I was considering turning it in before was because in the application packet it says you can before you take the exam (I've already filled out my application). Have you already taken the HESI for Pima? I'm taking my exam tomorrow, got an 82% the first time hoping for a much better grade this time around.
  8. I'm applying for the Tucson campus. I plan on setting up an appointment tomorrow to turn it in in person, I can't decide if I want to turn it in before I take my exam or not though. I know they calculate it differently, only going off certain classes but I couldn't remember which ones. I'm pretty worried about the exam I took it in the fall and it was tough, the grammar portion was really difficult. I imagine with my GPA I will have to do pretty well on the exam to have a chance at being accepted. NAU is my first choice, I'm also applying for the Pima program tomorrow. What campus are you applying for?
  9. Oh wow, it's been a while since I've been on, my fall semester kept me really busy! I ended up not applying for the spring semester, I thought my Kaplan score was too low and wanted to finish out my prereqs to boost my GPA a bit. So I am taking the Kaplan again on Feb 3rd to apply for the Fall '17 semester. Does anyone know if you have to mail the application in or if you can personally turn it in? My cumulative GPA is a 3.64 so I'm hoping to do well on the Kaplan to have a shot at getting in.. Congrats to everyone who was accepted for the spring semester!!
  10. I am taking my exam on September 9th, just a few days away! I do well on reading and writing I am mainly worried about the math portion. I took A&P 2 last semester which is what I've heard the science portion covers so I've been refreshing on that.
  11. Hi, I am applying to the NAU nursing program at the Tucson campus in September to start in spring 2017. I have a few questions for anyone who has taken the Kaplan entrance exam and the admission process. What did you use to study for the Kaplan? I went to the nursing info session and I was told the Kaplan study guide wasn't very helpful and to use other options for studying. Any additional information about the program or admission that can be provided would be a huge help! Thank you!
