  1. How does this sound: Hello ****** , It was a pleasure to meet with on Wednesday afternoon February 14th to interview for the Registered Nurse position at the *******. I wanted to thank you for being so friendly and gracious. I was excited to learn about the aspect of ******* Life Care model and was impressed that staff participates in a plan of care that places priority on resident input. I enjoy advocating for my patient's needs and feel that ******* unique model will give me plenty of opportunity to do so. I further wanted to thank you for your advice that often, seasoned nurses will "eat their young". I know that it will be beneficial as I navigate starting my career and the environment that I may face. After the interview I am even more convinced that ******** is the kind of company that I want to work for, and if selected for this opportunity, I will pour my heart and soul into being the best Nurse and advocate I can be for your residents. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you
  2. Thank you for commenting. I hadn't thought about that looking like permission to be abused. She was very forthcoming that it is common in nursing in general, but that their hearts are in the right place. I also don't think she was speaking about her facility in particular, but the field in general. I am rewording some based on your suggestions. thanks agai!
  3. Hello. I am new graduate ASN RN and am currently interviewing for my first nursing position. I have not worked in the field prior to nursing school. I went on an interview that I am super excited about. I was advised to send a thank you letter. Can I get some feedback before I send it? Hello Ms. *****, This is *******. It was a pleasure to meet with on Wednesday afternoon to interview for the Registered Nurse position at the ******. I wanted to thank you for being so friendly and gracious. I left excited after learning about the unique aspect of ****** Life Care model and feel that with the residents having such a high degree of input into their care, it would allow me the most advantage of advocating for their needs as a Nurse and community resource. I further wanted to thank you for your valuable advice regarding new graduate nurses and their first position in the field. You mentioned the reputation of "nurses eating their young" and I wanted to reinforce to you that I welcome the challenge to prove that I have skin "thick enough" to be shaped into a valuable member of your team. After the interview I am even more convinced that ******* is the kind of company that I want to work for, and if selected for this opportunity, I will pour my heart and soul into being the best Nurse and advocate I can be for your residents. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you
