  1. Did you get the comprehensive review book from ATI? It helps. I had ati also and it was required to pass the exam to graduate. I had to take it 2 times. But passed. I will say ati is harder than Nclex. My advice is don't dwell on the questions. Don't over think it!! Pay attention to your answer choices. Some are very similar. Process of elimination! Good luck!
  2. Thanks. I wasn't hired specifically for weekends but I discussed it. They do self scheduling there and only a few are grandfathered in for the Baylor shift. So I'm not depending on getting just weekends but just a thought.
  3. Ok, so I didnt think the NCSBN questions were anything like the exam. I used the Saunders online questions under analysis and application. they were spot on, and it gives rationale and strategy on how to breakdown and answer the question. This I found very helpful because even if you are unsure, you can easily narrow it down!
  4. I start my very first RN job in less than a month on night shift. I thought nights would work best with my kids, but now Im not so sure. Its a 7p-7a and my husband normally leaves for work by 0430, 0500. I have one kid that needs to get on the bus at 0645 and the other at 0730. They are only 11 and 9, so not sure I trust them getting up and ready by themselves. What was I thinking?!?! I dont know how this is going to work, but I am super excited with this job and the team on the floor!! Anyone have suggestion for a first time nurse on nights? Those with school age kids, how do you make it work? My goal is to work weekends, but then they will be home while I need sleep! Thanks so much!!
  5. Just to update.....I PASSED!!!
  6. I bought ncsbn review but it was way crazy. I used saunders online review questions. I focused on the analysis and application . Also when taking the exam if it was something I was unsure of and it asked what requires more teaching etc... I reviewed the answers.... almost every time 3 were all similar
  7. I tested yesterday. I can honestly say I thought it would be much different. I was able to pull out those analysis and application questions no problem while studying, but my test was ALL over the place. I thought if I got up to that "level" I'd be good but I had things from basic care, safety, priority...... I had things I felt I hadn't even heard of during school. I had to use process of elimination for some answers. I feel I failed! On that note, I heard the more SATA you have the better your doing but then heard it's random. There is no way to figure the test out. My class had many pass in 75... some 90... some ALL 265 feeling as though they failed... best of luck and I can say practice your critical thinking
  8. I just finished my nclex. Cut off at 75 and I feel horrible. I feel that I guessed on a lot. How many fail on 75? I had a mix of stuff and SATA. Thanks!
