  1. Are you in the FB page? I'm on campus Monday and Wednesday this session. We should meet up if your schedule is the same! I am excited to be starting real nursing classes soon!
  2. We really need to connect then because I start clinicals in March as well!
  3. Hi! I wanted to respond to your post because I currently attend Chamberlain. I don't want to worry you, but depending on how your classes fall, you may end up going 4 days a week in more than one session. I am currently on that schedule, and then I will be again in my November session. I was told the same originally, so I wanted to give you a heads up so you're not blind-sided just in case. However, I LOVE it here so far, and have no complaints. You are given everything you need to succeed, and the tutoring is phenomenal. I wish you the best! I graduate in winter of 2020! So I\m spending about 2 years and couple months, after my credits transferred.
  4. Hi! Chamberlain is awesome, and my experience has been great thus far. You get what you put into it, so bottom line is to apply yourself! Yes, you would graduate in less than 2 years. I graduate winter of 2020, and that is with a few pre reqs I had to take. You'll be good to go, and time will fly by. I have only just scratched the surface, but it feels like time is really going by fast! I wish you the best with whatever you decide to do, and hope this helps!
  5. Hello all, I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for scrub bottoms that will match the royal blue color of Chamberlain scrubs. Many people who have purchased the bottoms in the past complain about lack of waist band room, and the pants falling down slightly in the back. I would like to purchase some better bottoms, but would love to hear from anyone who has already done this. Of course the color must match the Chamberlain scrub top. Thanks in advance!
  6. Hey Pixie Thank you for your service! I also wanted to say thank you for your objective view. I lurk on here from time to time, and I have seen you comment in many posts. I am currently finishing up a bachelor's, along with pre reqs for nursing. I want to attend Chamberlain next fall, but am applying to 4 other state schools as well (Emory University is my top school). Anyway, your post is right on. If I get accepted to Chamberlain, all of my pre-reqs are completed so I would be able to start out taking nursing courses! I also have the GI bill and will be using that to help. It is nice to be reminded to remain realistic along with being optimistic!
  7. Thanks for your response! Yes, I have an associate's degree and am just trying to get more pre nursing courses done! Wow, we may have a class or two together. :-) I've never taken 16 week courses in college before, I LOVE fast pace classes!!! I wish you the best!!! -Mel
  8. That is awesome! I am glad to meet you. lol There seem to be only a few of us... I am trying my hardest to go ahead and finish the sciences before fall 2017, so I may actually be able to start then too! If not, it would be the beginning of 2018 (Believe they have a January class). It would be great if we are classmates, and really there is a high possibility since we both have previous credits. I can tell you and I would get along just from your cheerful demeanor! ***warning, I am a very optimistic person*** Hence my username. lol:roflmao:
  9. Hi, I have plans on attending the Atlanta campus spring 2018. (Know this forum is old, but I can't find anyone on here recently who talks about Chamberlain). Did you graduate and congrats if you did!
  10. Hi! I recently posted in the Chamberlain College forum about going to the Atlanta campus Spring 2018. Are you still going and when are you looking to start?? I have seen one or two people interested, but they're not in Atlanta, and of course there are people saying everything bad about the school. It would be nice staying in touch with a possible future classmate.:)
  11. :)Thank you for your input. I actually attended an open house in the last couple of months and was given their most current curriculum. I will have completed my BA next Summer, and most of those credits, including sciences will transfer, so it will be less than 28 months per credit evaluation. Also, I have my GI bill (military) to pay for costs, so I will be fine in that department, and it is definitely something I have carefully researched and weighed for a few years. Plus, the tuition total will not be as bad since I have several classes already completed. I am confident and excited on the decision I have made. Are you in school or looking to start nursing?? If you are, I bet you are just as excited!!
  12. Hi! Thanks for your post! I completely agree with you, Chamberlain is a great school and perfect for us who have the main pre req and core classes. It sure does cut the expenses down. I understand other schools are cheaper, but why put your life on hold just to possibly get rejected? I say if you can manage the costs, the go for it; that's exactly what I will do! Yes, research! I see many people saying negative things on here about the school, but they are just rumors in my opinion. No facts, purely opinions. I personally went to their open house, and they offer unlimited tutoring programs and the SIM labs are amazing. Plus their pass rate is high, and Thank you so much about the HESI advice; I will be getting up to speed in these areas. I want to learn to appreciate math more, and not run from it. lol:roflmao: Please let me know what you hear next week! I wish you the best, and hope you get in!!!!!! I will add you as a friend, so we can stay in touch. I'll keep you updated on everything for sue.
  13. Okay cool! I really wish you the best! Let me know what you decide, I'd like to stay in touch. :-)
  14. Just also remember, that people will have their own opinions without actual experience with the schools. For example, in Atlanta, Chamberlain is a well respected school (97% pass rate on nursing board exam!) and local universities have said they will transfer students, and also accept them into grad school as long as requirements are met. Well known and respected hospitals (such as St. Joseph/ Children's Healthcare of Atlanta) surrounding the area have good reviews on nursing students from this school. I can only tell you from where I live, so I am not sure how the campus is where you are; but you did mention that your friends enjoy it, so that is good to have people you personally know give the school a thumbs up in my opinion. Just please research and call about the specifics yourself because I have seen many views about what should or should not happen based purely on speculation or people who had a personal bad experience. We can offer advice, but trust your own instinct, after all, it's your future right?
  15. Hi! Great question, I've been wanting to connect with people in the same boat. I'm finishing up a psychology degree and will graduate Summer of 2017. I have to take about 6/7 pre req classes, and then will be applying to start in Spring 2018! I am so excited!!! Whoop whoop!!! The school I am going to will accept most of my credits, and doesn't require pre req, but it is very expensive so i am trying to take every class available besides the nursing classes of course. Chamberlain School of Nursing Atlanta, GA campus. The psych degree was pursued before I was 100 percent about nursing, so I MUST finish that, plus it is almost complete.
  16. Thanks for your input! OMG, yes, this has been an on-going process for the last couple of years as far as what schools and when to start. lol I truly believe Chamberlain is the place for me. I bought some HESI study guides because I am not good at taking standardized test. My weakest subject is math, and I tend to freeze up and overthink. For this test, I decided not to study too much and burn myself out before the test even starts. I think maybe two months prior is how I will approach. When I went to their open house, I fell in love with how they operated; the SIM labs were amazing! They did an informal credit evaluation, and most of my credits transferred. So, if I can get these last 6 classes in before I apply there, I will basically only be taking nursing courses and I think that'll leave me with 18 months only! So, the main obstacle is tackling this HESI exam! I am determined to make it happen! lol
  17. Oh wow, I'm sorry to hear that! Math is my toughest subject. UDM sounds like the better choice, and it looks like you know! Can't go wrong with scholarships! I hope you are able to get in wherever you choose. What start date are you aiming for?
  18. Hi! I am new to posting, so hopefully I can offer some insight. I live in GA and plan on going to Chamberlain in Spring/Summer of 2018. For me, I looked at the costs, quality of schools, and convenience when comparing my choice of schools. Because I have my pre-reqs done, my tuition will be significantly lower at Chamberlain-Check. Upon researching, this school has a very high pass rate and offers quality teaching-Check. Lastly, I prayed about this constantly whether I should wait to go somewhere else when their applications opened up, or should I go to the school that I have a great chance of getting into much sooner... I am a mother of 3, with a hubby, and my career is something that has been put on hold for years. You get where I'm going with this?- Check. lol So, three checks, and I was able to confidently say this is the right place for me. Making lists and using the pro and cons system worked well for me. If you research and find that both schools have equal quality of teaching, maybe go with the cheaper school; or maybe the school that offers you the easiest commute. Also, do you have any previous credits? If you do, this can help lower your cost. Think about how soon you want to start school, and if taking a couple years to get credits from a cheaper school is the better option. I have heard of many students who took their core classes at local cheaper colleges, and then transferred in. I hope this helped! P.S. I just posted a question myself, so I understand the desire to wanting someone else's input. Lol ;-)
  19. Hey everyone! I am learning how to create posts on here, but I think this is the correct forum! Ha! Per the title, I plan on applying to Chamberlain in Atlanta, GA spring/summer timeframe in 2018. I have been contemplating the best route to take as far as getting into nursing school. So far, Chamberlain seems to be my best choice. I have already attended an open house, which I love. They are a no none-sense school. By the time I apply, I will have taken all of the main courses besides nursing, so my tuition will be exceptionally lower. (Chamberlain is expensive if you are planning on going there without any previous credits). The pass rate is phenomenal and the local hospitals enjoy the students from this school. Anyway, I was wondering, is anyone else out there is thinking about applying to this school around the time I mentioned above? It would be nice to get to know some possible future classmates! Thanks, Melanie

  21. Thank you! That is what my thought process is as well. I currently have a 4.0 and would like to keep it as long as possible. I'm 27, so I believe it is okay to wait until it is truly my time. :-) Again, thank you. It is encouraging seeing someone who took their time, and did not try and rush through everything. This helps me a lot!
  22. Greetings everyone! I am new to this site, and am not sure if this is the correct forum. Any who, I have aspirations to attend nursing school! This has been a dream of mine for years, and I feel I am very close. Ultimately (waaaaaay further down the line), I would like to become a NP concentrating in mental health :-) Okay, so here's two options. I can apply to a couple 2-year RN schools here in GA, while rushing into completing the pre reqs and possibly get accepted fall 2017. Or, (this is my decision as of now) I can wait to complete all of my pre reqs, starting next fall 2017 (7 classes total) and apply to several nursing schools for fall 2018. I am currently finishing up my BA in Psychology, and will graduate next summer 2017 (Yippeeeeee) I have a family, and am working part time, so I figured the smart and practical thing to is not to rush the process and take my pre reqs after I graduate next summer. That way, I have time to volunteer, work, and build my science based knowledge. I want to actually retain what I learn in my pre req courses, and not just take them to receive credit! Waiting will allow me not to feel rushed... Any thoughts?
