  1. My goodness! How did you get waitlisted at UTMB but got accepted to UTH? Isn't UTH supposed to be more competitive? I got accepted to UTMB, TWU, and UTH. Will probably stay with my UTMB acceptance. Honestly, I have no idea which school is the best. I want to decline the other 2 schools so that others may hurry up and get off the waitlist.
  2. OK so I already accepted UTMB back in June. But recently I got accepted to TWU and now UTH. What should I do??? Can I still back out of UTMB even though I already paid the $200 deposit and accepted them? I think I would much rather go to UTH.
  3. Anyone know when we can expect letter of acceptance or rejection?
  4. Hey question: Once we finish our Prereqs AFTER acceptance, do we send the new transcripts to NCAS or straight to UTMB? Also I'm looking for a roommate as well for Spring 2017. But I'm a guy so idk if anyone would want me =( but I'm good for whatever as long as it's about $500-$600ish range. Email me at [email protected] See y'all spring!
  5. For those who are accepted: Once you pay the $200 fee, you are good to go and the only thing left on your To Do List for now will be the prereqs you have left (if any). Also remember to do the CPR cert. and all immunizations before school starts! Also question if anyone can help answer: Can I still go to another school like UTHealth if I got into another school even if I already paid that $200 deposit for UTMB? Thanks
  6. Hi Laura. I was scared that TWU didn't receive my TEAS score either so I just called the denton admission office. They transferred me to nursing people at DENTON and they have the TEAS score filed. So you should call to make sure. They said that they won't start processing anything until after the 8/15 deadline. So this is all we can do for now until then. Hope this helps!
  7. Hi thanks Taylor. I applied to TWU in Houston. I already got into UTMB though so I might just go there instead.
  8. Do you guys know if TWU is 15 months program straight through? Like we can go starting Jan. 2017 and finish by April/May 2018?
  9. I honestly didnt study for it. But i taught and tutor middle school students before this so I am pretty familiar with much of the basic content on teas. But i can see teas being hard for many people whos been out of secondary school for a while. Many people i talked to suggest just buying the ati guide and practice test.
  10. Do they look at Science GPA at all? Or just the Nursing Core and Prereq GPA? My Nursing Core GPA is 3.86, and Prereq is 3.89 but my science is like MUCH lower. My overall GPA isn't that good either at only 3.4ish. So if they only look at Nursing Core and Prereq, I would be golden. Otherwise, might as well assume rejection. TEAS is 94% individual, 99% national, 99% TWU Have previous Bachelor's I hope I can get in!
  11. I asked them about this. The Office of Admission Processing told me you get a 2 weeks grace period after the deadline at 5/31 for NCAS to verify the transcripts. Mine took about 1.5 weeks. But it sounds like they seem pretty lenient.
  12. Hi everyone! I just got conditionally accepted into UTMB (got 3 prereqs left) for Spring 2017. No, I did not type wrong. My application was sped up for a military scholarship I am applying for, and the UTMB admissions office staffs were VERY NICE and HELPFUL in aiding me with this process and I am so very grateful for their assistance. So the application process goes like this for UTMB: 1. Send transcripts from all colleges attended to NursingCAS 2. Apply to UTMB via NursingCAS. Make sure you do your Personal Statement well and honestly. It gives you a chance to talk about things like where your former struggles are. Show a willingness to learn and improve. 3. Wait for your transcripts to be verified by NursingCAS (about 1 to 2 weeks) 4. UTMB will interview you if you're a good candidate. I did a phone interview, though I think they usually require you to go to their campus. 5. UTMB will accept, waitlist, or deny your application My stats: *I already have a Bachelor's in Biology and was a teacher for a bit before this *Military reservist hoping to get scholarship through army *Overall GPA at about 3.3 so not super stellar. In fact, when I got my BA before post-bac classes, I only had like 2.8. So it's NEVER hopeless! *Science GPA at about 3.2. Again, not very good due to my first 2 bad years during undergrad. *Prereq GPA is about 3.9 though but a few classes I retook or were if-y on transferable credit guideline. *TEAS V 93% individual, 99% national. This probably helped a lot but I don't know for sure. Based on what my interviewer told me about the school, it seems like a very good school with lots of support. Plus, UTMB gives clinical opportunities in Houston med center too so don't think you will only be limited to Galveston only.
