I attend ITT now. You do have to take an entrance HESI. There is no wait list, however, acceptance is contingent upon how well you do on the HESI. You are not just thrown into nursing classes. General education classes are included in the program. It's not always an issue of grades. Because I had a 4.0 average prior to enrolling. I live in Chicago and there is one school in the area with a 4-5 year wait list. By the time your number is called u have to retake a science or 2. I'm sorry, I'm not getting any younger. When I got my LPN 9 years ago, that program seemed to be unorganized and in total disarray, however, the pass rate was exceptionally high. As a matter of fact 98% of my class passed NCLEX. This program is not easy you have to put in the work. We have lost a few people along the way. The people we've lost were not serious and didn't put in the work. We help each other in every way possible. ITT graduates do get jobs at hospitals. They come back to the school and share experiences. That's saying a lot because a lot of hospitals in Chicago do not want to hire ADNs. They only want BSNs now because they are trying to achieve magnet status.
