  1. The answer to your question mrsboots87 is that on the BON website it says to call Pearson Vue if all is complete with the BON and a certain amount of days have passed. However, I called the BON as well... I started the topic giving the explanation of the situation and asked if anyone has had similar issues. Same to roser13, I am not asking for a specific answer or for anyone to "guess". It was to see if anyone else had the issues I have experienced and how long after they received the ATT or if there was anything that needed to be fixed etc. I searched allnurses and other people had situations where something was off and people on here were able to comment and share what happened to them. So I decided to start one specific to my situation that was not from 5 years ago as things might have changed since then. I know they have since I took the NCLEX as a LVN. So yep, that's it.
  2. AOG - affidavit of graduation. Last time had an ATT 2weeks after last day of school. Thinking it's the timing of new grads and prob peak time for them. Everything is complete. Literally waiting on BON to tell Pearson Vue the final ok to give me ATT. I don't see what BON is waiting on or how long they take to Pearson Vue this info.
  3. So I am currently a LVN and graduated RN school a month ago. The BON has everything marked as complete when I check my application status. My AOG is complete as of 07/14/2016, my jurisprudence, background, fingerprints/criminal background check ALL complete. I called Pearson Vue and gave them my NCLEX ID number u receive when registering with them. They said they were waiting on BON to send info to them so they can email me my ATT. My question is, how long does this seriously take?!? It's ridiculous this is so slow! It seems like it would be the push of a button. Ugh! Anyone had the same issue? And how long after everything marked complete on BON did u finally get ATT??
  4. I just want to start by saying I'm so sorry you are going through this. My first post on here was similar. It really helped me to hear others go through some similar experiences as well. I know now that it is normal to go back and try to analyze EVERY LITTLE SINGLE DETAIL on what you could have done differently. But you did everything right and everything you could. I think when a nurse loses a patient the first time that they had some connection with, or during their first code it can be difficult. The fact that this was also a child is another factor making it more difficult. What was offered to me, & proved true, is that it may consume you now but every day gets easier. But you will probably never forget. I don't think you should tell the parents you're sorry you couldn't save him but rather give sympathy for their loss. If they choose to open up about his medical condition or if the grandma or aunt provide info it could give you some peace of mind that even with your efforts, nothing could have been done. Don't beat yourself up though. It is a grieving process and talking to others does help.
  5. Definitely keeping my eyes open for one just in case we can do anonymous donation. I've been through this a lot but have never felt this bad for the pt, family, situation especially bc as a nurse you question, did I do everything I could?? Like I said I don't get emotional EVER and realize I did my part and cared and must move on. This post has been somewhat therapeutic. Lol. Thank u all
  6. Thanks for the feedback. I was on the fence too.... I see how it can be misconstrued. : ( I just wish there was more I could do...
  7. I had the pleasure of caring for a very kind young gentleman who was in the hospital for an extended time and we were all rooting for him to get better. Unfortunately he did not make it and the staff on our floor felt pretty bummed. I have always been able to separate myself from these types of things just because as a Nurse that's what one has to do. This just was very abrupt, sudden and sad when it happened. We talked about what he would do when he got out and how he was feeling better just the evening before this happened. I know he had his mom and sister and not sure if he worked. Would it be against some nursing rules I can't think of in the State of Texas to reach out to the family and see if we can make a donation for his funeral expenses? At the least I want to send a card from the unit to his mother.... Any help is much appreciated.
