I think the orientation probably depends on if you're going to be in the part time evenings/weekend program or full time program.

Hi, I will be starting the Fall 2019 ABSN Program at GMU at the Philadelphia Location. I wanted to know if anyone can give some insight on how the program runs. I am curious as to how days are set up in regards to lectures and clinicals as far as the times. Any information that can be shared will be appreciated.

Congrats Lovely 39! Yes, I did apply to Neumann, but I never got around to sending in my transcripts to them. I got into Drexel's 24 month program, so I am going to go there. Moreover, I would like to be in a shorter program and this program is a year shorter than Gwynedd. Now, i will not have to take biochemistry which is a relief. What other schools did you apply to?

Hi Everyone, I have been accepted into the 24 month program. I am too excited. Congrats to all who have been accepted as well. I am looking forward to meeting everyone accepted into the 24 month program.

I believe that it is set up similar to the Achieve program. Classes are Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 or 10. Also, there is lab/clinical every other weekend or every Saturday. You start in September and will be finished in exactly 2 years from your starting month which is nice. I think that Widener University has a 18 month program which is evenings too. Neumann also has an evening program too.

I totally understand what you are saying. That's how I feel about the biochemistry class. Most schools only require regular chemistry. Also, I applied to the Drexel 24 month program and Lasalle Achieve program which is an evening/weekend program. I need to still work, so I only applied to programs that I would be able to continue to work.

Hi, I applied without all of my prerequisites being completed. I still had 3 more prerequisites to complete. I just completed microbiology last semester. This semester I am taking biochemistry and statistics.

I am switching careers too. I am currently a 6th grade teacher. I will be finished all of my prerequisites in the end of April. Yes, Lasalle has an evening/weekend program called the Achieve program. You have to take a test called the NLN as part of the requirement to get in. I took it last year. Also, the program is about 2 and 1/2 years long which is almost as long as Gwynedd. As far as my preference, I like the fact that Drexel is only 24months exactly. However, I am leaning towards Gwynedd because I like being home during the week with my kids, and being able to have somewhat of a summer since their courses in the summer are online. That really works for me since I am off in the summer. I guess the final decision will be made once I hear back from Lasalle and Drexel.

Yes, I applied to Drexel's 24 month program. I just sent them an updated transcript from the microbiology class that I took at CCP. Also, I applied to Lasalle, but they do not make decisions until March. I need to continue to work full time, so I only applied to those 2 programs. I actually like the fact that in the summer at Gwynedd it is all online and the fact that it is only on the weekend works for me. I wish that the program was shorter though. One person from the prerequisites that I took just got accepted into the 24 month program at Jefferson.

It took about a month for me to find out that I was accepted. Have you applied to any other schools?

Originally, Gwynedd was not my first pick, but as I thought about the time that I will have to put into the program with having a family this program seemed more a fit for my situation. I like to be able to be home during the week for my kids. After to talking to a few of my friends who are nurses they said this route would be better. I do wish that it was a shorter program, however, I do like the fact that the summer classes are all online. I will have my weekends in the summer at least. That is definite plus for me since I am off in the summer since I am a teacher. What school is your first choice at this point?

Hi, it was brought to my attention that Widener University has an evening full time program. It is 18 months. I believe it is Tues thru Sat evenings, but I am not completely positive about that. They start reviewing applications next month. I just thought that I would share that with you since that would be a much quicker route to BSN.

Oh ok, how many prerequisites do you have left to complete after this semester? I have just Biochemistry and Statistics in which I am taking next semester. If I am accepted to Drexel I would just have Statistics to take. Neumann University and Lasalle also have a part time evening/weekend program. Lasalle doesn't let you know if you're accepted until March. I took the NLN test and passed it for Lasalle as well. I am just amazed at how competitive these BSN programs are. I guess that they get a large amount of applications every year now.

Hopefully, they will receive your transcript this week. Yes, I agree with getting it out the way faster. I Have you looked into the 24 month Drexel program which is just 2 evenings during the week and I the weekends? I applied to that program too, but they told me that they will not render a decision until I send in the transcript for this semester for my microbiology class. I am still up in the air with requesting the transcript to be sent to them next month. You would still be able to work if you were in that program too. It is a year less then Gwynedd too.
