Augusta U- MSN/CNL- Fall 2018 Entry
Just to encourage anyone out there that may have struggled as I did a few weeks ago. I recently commented of my struggles of passing the GRE exam. I have always been a terrible test taker ..well standardized test taker. I attempted the GRE twice and received a 289 on each one. Before getting totally discouraged, I attempted the MAT test. Knowing it would be difficult, I purchased the barron's pdf mat prep book, purchased all three pearson test available on the MAT official website, and downloaded/purchased pocketprep MAT prep app. But most importantly, I PRAYED diligently. I believe I studied for a total of two weeks and took the exam today. Needless to say, I scored a 410 on the MAT exam. I am super excited to proceed with my application and hope to encourage others to not give up!

@ENNY I have started my application. You do not have to have completed your essay nor scores to start the application. BUT we will have to have everything completed before the application is sent to Augusta University. I have not completed my application so I do not know if they GPA will come up afterwards.

That's great! @2ndcareermsn! Good luck on your classes this semester. Both the GRE and MAT are tough. I hope for success on the MAT this time. How soon do you plan on submitting your application? I agree about paying for the BSN , I would prefer not as well í ½í¸ž

You are quite close!! Do not give up! I am hoping to make a 400+ on the MAT. I really don't want to go through the GRE horror again! Best of wishing to you as well! Prayers for us both!

Thanks for the encouragement! I wish you the best as well! I have found the GRE hard to study for as well though if I had to I would again.I have no doubt that the MAT will be just as hard. I think the difference between format and content will possibly help me. I am going to be sure to study hard enough before I take it. I spoke with a past CNL student who also took the MAT, she stated that she passed by practicing the test over again until she took the final one. Do you mind me asking, what did you make on the GRE and MAT?

Hi! I am also preparing to apply to Augusta's CNL program for Fall 2018! I have a BS in Biology! I knew I wanted to go into the medical field, but was never sure which route I wanted to explore! Ultimately after giving birth to my son during my senior year of college, I decided that this program would fit my life's interest best! I have completed all prereqs and maintained a pretty decent GPA although I am not sure what it is yet (maybe 3.6-3.7ish)z my Undergrad GPA is 3.25. I have taken the GRE TWICE already and did not do well either times. So sad that I scored a 289 both times! I have always struggled with standardized tests. I plan on taking the MAT soon to shoot my 3rd shot at this test taking thing and hopefully I will come out successful and move forward! I have also written my essay, well the rough draft! I will polish it as soon as I can! The application cycle does not open until September 1st (Friday). I am super nervous! I pray that I score well on the MAT exam. I do not know when I will take it as I am still just so bummed about getting so close to that 290 on the GRE twice but yet failing! Ugh! I guess I will pick my chin up because this is my dream! Anybody take the MAT already and succeeded? Any advice? I know this is going to be a competitive cycle this year and hope to stand out! I have a bit of volunteer experience! I've read through the 2017 applicants forum, and was encouraged through them so fingers crossed or rather prayer hands up!
