  1. Hi I am interested in becoming a nurse, but have a few reservations. I currently work in business make good money 80K in NY, but feel a void in my life as I want to help humanity and not just my boss' pockets. My concern is salary, do I really want to get into school debt to come out making around the same salary or less :/ this dilemma has me concerned + not to mention I am 35 and been out of school for a long time. Can someone please give me advise on salaries for starting nurses in NY? how long does it take to advance up the ladder? Currently I work 50 hours per week and sometimes work on weekends, so nursing hours will not differ much except I hope to work less days Thanks in advance for all your comments!
