  1. Hi everyone, I'm writing this to hopefully get some perspective. I hope I don't come off as some whingy brat. I have been a nurse for about 30yrs, most work done in ICU and PACU.i have been working in PACU for about 10 years. I agree there may be some degree of burnt-outness, but my issues are.... I have a manager who is outright hostile towards PACU staff, unwilling to send help, not spending anytime to find out how we are going. In Australia we have ACORN standards about staffing levels etc. when I bring up my concerns I am shut down, and basically made to feel like I just can't cope. The "inside" staff, seem to believe all we do is sit and drink coffee, I don't feel as if there is a whole lot of respect given to our jobs. I really don't want to leave the area, I would appreciate any tips, advice you could give me, if I need to suck it up I am willing to hear that too. Should I be journaling concerns just in case?
