Hi! I just went through the DO process and got approved. It's very tricky. If you have any questions let me know! Also, start the DO paperwork now! It takes a long time. You usually get a decision closer to the 6 months mark if all court documents are correct and in order. And if your case has to be reviewed by another department it's another 3-6 months and most schools require a letter of approval before accepting you. Also, If you are missing paperwork, you have to send it and wait for the committee to go for review again to look at it & they usually go only once a month. So get started now! Good luck!!

I had to do one last year! The first time I submitted it then requested more court documents which delayed the decision. Once all court documents were sent it took about 60-90 days. Then I got a letter asking for a few because it was being sent to another department. Once I sent the fee it took about 60-90 days to receive an approval. Mine was also in Texas.

TXagg: Yes, my school requires it before you can accept a. Seat in the nursing program because TX is behind and can take 6-24 months. So I did it and basically got the okay to take the NCLEX. Once passed my license will have no stipulations.

Texas here. Same situation. I had to submit an application to the BON to even see if they would allow me to sit for the NCLEX. After about 6 months and a few I got a letter stating that at graduation I would be eligible to test as long as all education requirement are met.

I agree! Relax! You need the calm before the storm. Nursing school is hectic and overwhelming with little time to enjoy off. So do it now! You'll be glad you did! Good luck!!

For us, a 75% is passing. There are 4 test in every class. One is 20% and the other 3 are 25% including the final. Then there is 5% that comes from I-clicker quizzes. In order to get the 5%, you must have a 75 or above on the other material. Even though a 75 is passing, you have to meet with the instructor for remediation for anything less than a 76.
