Why take microbiology?
So I was in micro lab today and one of the girl in my lab group said to us, "I don't know why we have to take microbiology for. Like, when am I ever going to use microbiology in nursing? I think only people like pharmacology students should take this class." I said it was good knowledge and that maybe there will be days we might need to use and know some basic microbiology info but she argue back that we only need to know lab values and anatomy and physiology. The thing is, she's already a LPN so acts like my points aren't valid because she works as a nurse and I'm just a CNA at a hospital. So my question is, "why is microbiology important for nursing?"

Isadevon: I'd say choose the school closer to your work so that if you pick up a shift you won't have to drive far. or if you still can't decide, write the names of both school on a piece a paper and draw out of a hat. Lol. Becca: I think NHCC is nice because they have the entire first floor of the new bioscience building dedicated to the nursing program. I have also heard great things about century too. So like I told Isadevon if you can't choose, pick out of a hat and go it. Lol good luck to you both! And congrats to everyone who made it!

Isadevon I say choose the school closest to you, unless you live in the middle of both school than no question you should pick NHCC. Lol! I also have kids And I know a few students who have kids and are doing ok in the program. I have heard nothing but great things about both programs so I think whichever program you choose will be good either way.
