  1. So I was in micro lab today and one of the girl in my lab group said to us, "I don't know why we have to take microbiology for. Like, when am I ever going to use microbiology in nursing? I think only people like pharmacology students should take this class." I said it was good knowledge and that maybe there will be days we might need to use and know some basic microbiology info but she argue back that we only need to know lab values and anatomy and physiology. The thing is, she's already a LPN so acts like my points aren't valid because she works as a nurse and I'm just a CNA at a hospital. So my question is, "why is microbiology important for nursing?"
  2. Will we be registering for spring classes during orientation or do we do it ourselves?
  3. Becca: which school did you end up choosing?
  4. Isadevon: I'd say choose the school closer to your work so that if you pick up a shift you won't have to drive far. or if you still can't decide, write the names of both school on a piece a paper and draw out of a hat. Lol. Becca: I think NHCC is nice because they have the entire first floor of the new bioscience building dedicated to the nursing program. I have also heard great things about century too. So like I told Isadevon if you can't choose, pick out of a hat and go it. Lol good luck to you both! And congrats to everyone who made it!
  5. Isadevon I think you should go talk to the advisor for both school and ask about scheduling. I think schedules change every semester.
  6. I will be attending the 9/14 orientation at NHCC so come say hi! My name is Nou Her :) here's to a new journey!!!
  7. Isadevon I say choose the school closest to you, unless you live in the middle of both school than no question you should pick NHCC. Lol! I also have kids And I know a few students who have kids and are doing ok in the program. I have heard nothing but great things about both programs so I think whichever program you choose will be good either way.
  8. Organizedmom: I'm from the cities. You'll probably get yours Monday. I'm sure you got in!!
  9. Isadevon: NHCC!!!!
  10. I think letters are mailed out today so we'lol get them either tomorrow or Monday.
  11. Today is the day!!! Excited!!!!
  12. How about ask for the ranges of composite scores accepted? Lol that way, technically, they're not giving away names right? Anyway, I'm getting so excited and anxious!!!
  13. Eeeekkkkkk!!!! In exactly two weeks, letters will be mailed out!!! So excited yet nervous!
  14. I think Leah said the lowest score accepted for last spring cycle (spring 2016 start) was 10.85. Something like spring cohort is always less competitive but I'm just nervous!! But hopeful! Hopefully we all get in so we can all go through this together.
