  1. Hey Kate! I tried looking up the group but wasn't having any luck. But I just found your page! I'm going to request you! My name is Nina Kennedy - any way you could add me as well? Thanks soo much :)
  2. Hey Kate! I tried looking up the group but wasn't having any luck - is it on private mode by any chance?
  3. Right - okay that makes sense! Well, I would love to try and meet beforehand
  4. Wahoo - congrats everyone! I got the email about an interview right after I posted that, but the time is saying 730-2pm. Do you find out what group you're in after you fill out the survey? Also, does anyone know how many people who get an interview get into the program? Like 1 in 5? And if that is the morning group - then I would love to meet up beforehand and get out some nerves!
  5. Has anyone heard anything? The suspense is killing me!
  6. Definitely not! Im pretty sure it was sent to everyone who applied to give them a heads up. But I would double check they received your application or that they have the correct email address!
  7. Yep got it as well! And same - I couldn't breathe while it loaded haha
  8. Yep - I agree! I don't think age matters if you have some experience and had a good essay/GPA! That's what i'm worried about! My pre-req GPA was fine, but my overall definitely wasn't much above average. I'm trying to not think about it much haha
  9. Well i'm glad you did! Wow - you have great experience! I've worked in mental health, pediatrics, and also in labor delivery/post-partum (but as a PCT)! My degree is in Psych - and i'm hoping to get into oncology/hematology, preferably pediatrics!
  10. Hi everyone! I was hoping someone would start a thread as well - so thank you! I also have not heard back yet, but will update when I do! Has anyone heard of the interviews are still in the group project style? Or back to just questions? Nina :)
  11. Hi! I graduated from college a few years ago with a Bachelors in Psych and decided I wanted to go back for Nursing. Since graduation (in 2013), I have been working in mental health and healthcare. I've worked at a residence home for those with mental illness (basically an LPN type job plus a little case work), as a Psych Tech on a Mental Health unit, a PCT on Delivery/Post-partum units, and as a Medical Assistant at a Peds office. I've done a lot of nannying and some volunteer work at hospitals in between these jobs. I have also gone back to school to take the pre-reqs, all of which I have A's in. However, I took Psych Stats during my time at my ridiculously hard undergrad school and got a C in it, which brings my pre-req GPA down to about a 3.5. I am unsure of my overall GPA since I transferred a couple times during my 4 years, but it shouldn't be lower than a 3.5. I also have some reference letters from Doctors, a professor, and an NP to further help my case even though they aren't required. I am only applying to one school this round: University of Colorado - Denver because it is the only one that I currently qualify for (plus a few extra - like Bio 2 and Chem 2). I have read about all kinds of amazing people applying to the already competitive Accelerated programs and while I had been confident, I am starting to doubt my likelihood of getting in. I started to plan to retake the Stats class during the summer (I don't even know now if Psych Stats would even qualify) - though not sure if it will just be combined with my C for the pre-req GPA. Has anyone applied to this program? Had any luck or have any suggestions? Does my list of experience and education look competitive, or no? I would very much appreciate any advice! Thank you :)
